Fair enough this is YOUR week-end to gloat. No complaints from me on that score.I expected nothing else. Mind you its been a while since you had one!! laugh

We'll be top Thanet club come seasons end,I have no doubts about that.(Am open to a quote on this one).

I left just after Margate scored their 2nd. First half Margate had most of the play. Goal was scored after an original long shot from Shannon which came off the post, another shot Eliot? blocked by keeper the ball went far left and a pile driver from Joe on the angle found the net.

Rams came back and the half finished even. Second half I stood behing the tunstil end. Ramsgate were all over Margate but some fine defending. keeping and poor finishing kept Margate in the game. Margate had a great chance when Rams keeper found himself way out to the left with no one infront of goal, I think it was Joes whos shot went wide. Just about to leave when Margate scored their 2nd. Not surprised Rams got one back, the amount of possession and time in Gates half they should have won.

U18's away to Canterbury City today. Canterbury 3-1 Margate

Some good football, but some fortunate goals from Canterbury got them all 3 points.

quick overview:

1st goal: a counter attack from the forward and the cross was creuly deflected past Lamprell by Clapton for an own goal.

1-0

2nd goal: a solid reply from the u18s with Justice hitting a long range effort which swerved and dipped over the keeper.

1-1

3rd goal: came at the end of the first half, a long ball down the right hand side, where the forward snatched onto, cut inside and set up the winger at the back post to fire into an empty net.

2-1

4th goal: during the second half; Canterbury had a dangerous free kick 20 yards out central of the goal, Lamprell excellently tipped the shot onto the cross bar, only for the City striker to jump onto the rebound to tap in.

3-1

Team: Lamprell, Clapton, Argy, Wheatley, Gibson, Merrel, Lovell (Karl), Justice, Gray, Kelly, Gonzalez-Belo
