STAFFORD TOWN 0 vs WILLENHALL TOWN 4

Only the God of missed chances knows how it was 0-0 at half time in this entertaining game, which showed no signs of a meaningless end of season kick about.

Some great saves by the home keeper, bags of near misses by the visitors, and an excellent 27th minute header off the Stafford line prevented Willenhall taking a substantial lead into the dressing room.

Stafford meanwhile had several quick breaks but were also unable to apply the killer touch.

It looked like Willenhall were destined never to score when on 52 minutes Bullimore hit the underside of the crossbar and when on 60 when Bullimore finally scored the effort was ruled offside!!

With Willenhall totally dominating the second half it came as no surprise when they did finally break the duck, when on 63 minutes Bullimore scrambled the ball over from a corner.

On 69 minutes a defence splitting ball from Hay found Bullimore with just the keeper to beat, the striker calmly obliged to double the lead.

Jason Smith found reward for his hard toil on 83 minutes when he lobbed the keeper after getting in between the keeper and defender.

With 2 minutes to go Pearce was bungled down in the area and up stepped Hay to blast the ball into the roof of the net from the spot kick.

Willenhall entertain Oadby on Tuesday 15th April.
