Request for assistance on local travel plan for EU

I am looking for the help and assistance of existing supporters of EUFC to help formulate a transport plan to facilitate getting people from the general local area to get to Stonebridge Raod.

MyFC has started the initial stages of putting in place structures to create opportunities for MyFC members to travel to home games. However, the membership of MyFC recognises that the long-term development of the club is dependent on building local support. To this end I would like to develop a strategy aimed at providing transport from the general area that would help existing supporters and new people get to home games and incorporate this into the general travel plan that is being developed. I am aware that the club has just announced an agreement with a transport provider to facilitate local members and I am interested in looking at expanding this.

In general terms -

(1) Do you think that this is a good idea?

(2) Is it feasible?

(3) What geographical area should the plan cover?

(4) How would the area be divided up?

(5) What routes would work?

(6) How many would be needed?

(7) What would be a reasonable cost to charge?

And any other suggestions. ideas, comments etc that you think might be helpful. I would appreciate it if people could give this their consideration and feel free to post here or pm me with comments.

Regards

DH

Thinks the MYFC Travel proposal is a great idea.

No offence meant but it will take more than a "travelplan" for locals to get them into the ground en masse regualarly but if advertised with forthcoming fixtures in the press might help a little. Maybe Matchday adverts in conjunction with a Arriva Fastrack travel plan and costs?

MYFC needs more "local knowledge" to make things like this work but hopefully info below gives you a general idea!

Have a look at what Dartford F.C. have agreed with "Arriva" - the main bus company for the local area.

See http://www.dartfordfc.co.uk/ "DARTFORD FC & ARRIVA ‘TEAM’ up together!".

Now Ebbsfleet train station is up and running Arriva run regular "Fasttrack" bus services frequently. Fastrack Route B services serve the new Ebbsfleet International Station, which is obviously close to the Ground.

This link gives you an idea of the route the service takes.

Page 4 of link below shows the B route service, which stops outside Asda (Gravesend Town Centre effectively) and takes you down to the football ground. Ebbsfleet F.C. is even shown on the route!

when we get regular gates of 2000+ parking near to the ground will become very difficult, that will be the time to get a good transport system to and from the ground. Many years ago the local buses stopped and started outside the ground,so when the game finished we just got on one of the many buses waiting for us.
