We need to increase attendance - some ideas

Even with loads of MyFCers in attendance and Charlton without a game over the weekend, G&N continue to only tweak the nodules of a 1400 crowd. This simply isn't good enough. To operate solvently, attendances of 2500+ are necessary. It's clear the football alone isn't going to attract that many, so what needs to be done to get another 1100 at games?

 

Half-time entertainment to attract people who wouldn't normally go to football is the key. Are there any famous pop stars from the Gravesend area that might be prepared to do a gig on the pitch at half time? Alternatively, what about strippers? Because of stripping law, you might have to not let in under 18s, but do many kids attend games at Stonebridge Road anyway? Those that do would surely be more than compensated by the extra adult blokes that come for the half time strippers? Or you could still let under 18s in, but make them wear blindfolds during half time. Other possibilities are a rodeo or monster trucks.

 

Can any people on this forum who live in the Gravesend area ask around amongst friends and workmates that don't attend games and see what specific half time entertainment would encourage them to attend? Thank you.

To my knowledge this is the second pratish thread started by the approprialty named 'clowntown'. Where on earth does he/she come up with bloody ridiculous ideas?

 

Can you imagine it..... the halftime whistle goes, the players make their way down the tunnel to their well deserved cuppa, and possibly a rolicking from the manager, only to have to stand to one side to let the monster trucks loose onto the pitch. Fifteen minutes later the players return for the second half to see the pich so badly cut-up ....... no sod it, its such a stupid idea I can't be bothered to imagine the finish!

 

I vote we ban him from this forum

One way - reduce admission for certain games, and PUBLICISE this information!

The club are getting better at promoting themselves, but I would be very surprised if many outside the usual supporters know that there is a local derby against Dartford on Tuesday, and its less than half-price to get in!

There showing the next game above the turnstiles, but gave up on the one in ground I noticed, also the last few games, we have not been flying the Bluesquare flag, above the main stand tea hut either for some reason.

to increase the attendences we should put ore advertisemant round the town centre, put prices down : adults £11 consessions £6.00 and under 6/7 £3.00 or even once a month do kids for a quid and advertise the junior fleet membership a bot more (under 16 pay £25 and get to watch every home league game for free.

I do wonder if lowering the ticket prices from 13 Pounds to 11 pounds really will make that much difference.

I am not from England,but 2 pounds today isn´t even a decent pint I recon?

I am all for better advertising though,and is always curious what the local knowledge of the situation might bring as solutions.

I still believe that nothing will beat progress on the pitch as a factor that will bring more people to Stonebridge Road.

The stadium might also need some improvement to make it more comfortable for the fringe fan.
