League Scouts flock to see young Margate players.

Not inconceivable that could happen:

In Peters,Morris,Martin and imo-the best of the lot-Ricardo Josephs-league scouts could be regularly following their progress-especial as there are 4/5 players in the 'rising star category'and maybe putting bids in for them during the summer.

I reckon all 4 are as good as, or better than the overhyped Ricky Holmes.

(i do hope that Josephs is on a contract for next season)

Add to that SCS who frankly, i thought went backwards in first half of season, but showed his true capabilities last weekend, and we don't really know enough about Corbishly yet, plus Dan Young assuming he puts on a bit of muscle and is not affected by his injury;and you have to say, that there is real footballing talent to be seen at HDP these days.

Credit to RT for assembling them in one team-just got to keep them together now for next season-unless the club get an offer of £50000 for any of them.

Yes indeed Michael. We now have a few positions covered by a couple if not three players.Selection is going to be a nightmare now for Trotty though it must be nice for him to have such a nightmare after being without key players for so long..

We still have Yianni to come back but obviously its going to take some time for him to get into the swing of things.Standen is lying in wait to start again(when suspension is complete).Young when recovered again.

Will Corbishley retain his normal position of full-back with Peters pushing up into right midfield?.If so Peters will do a lot of damage running at defenders as he does & he also gets more into the forward role that he is known for.Corbishley I think is another exciting prospect from what I've seen of him.

The bench is also going to hold adequate alternatives too.Players that could & probably would make the starting line up in normal circumstances.

Alan may well be spot on in saying that some of the youngsters currently on the bench will be loaned out to pay for Peters wages(whatever they are) because as well as that, their chances of starting are going to be rarer than was previous.

We really can't complain NOW if things don't go right for us.

Or maybe Peters at right back and Corbishly in midfield?

Did'nt Corbshly play in midfield on tueday- and as MF posted- play pretty well there.

I also seem to remember when corbishly was first muted in November, he could apparently play in midfield or at full back.

Personally, i'd like to see Peters remain at right back.Means that Corbishly may only make it to subs bench, but imo, that is best option.

For away games in particular, i'd like to see 3 central midfield plays/ball winners and just one wide man -probably Martin.

Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better,so not overly optimistic about tomorrow-,and for me-anything we do this season is a bonus;but i am confidently expecting to finish in the play-offs next season and for once-having decent runs in the trophy and FA Cup.

Pretty happy overall and conf south is a bit overated anyway-you don't want to hang around in that league for more than a season-lots of travel, quality no different to Ryman.

I think so too Alan.I can see,for the first time this season,a THIRD league victory in a row going into the Hastings game.
"Come on you Blues" lets get a winning run going now.Theres never going to be a better opportunity to do so. It's time now to turn up the heat.

I think we will just run out of games-had we another three games to play-yes -we would do it-but we will need to get at least 71 points to get fifth ;and imo 33 points from 16 games is just a bit too big an ask.

Had we three more games to play and maybe needed 34 points from 19 games, then we would have done it i reckon.

In their last 16 games last season-Hampton won 9,drew 5 and lost 2 = 32 points.

We need to do the same or better.

A win tomorrow would be superb as to me,28 points from the remaining 15 games looks a fair bit easier than 31 from 16 games.

Seen you mention this a couple of times MM. No way. Anyone who has played the game will know that this unbalances the midfield and would not help.

No right or wrong-just'interesting'.

For me,(unless your defence is dire)games are usually won by the team that wins midfield and thus controls the game. You thus need numbers aswell as quality in central midfield.

Wide midfield players do a great job attacking but are usually not really ball winners, and are not involved in the game so much as most of play goes down the mdlle-rightly or wrongly. Thus in effect you have less players actively involved in the game at anyone time.

Hence-i'd like to see 3 'central midfield' players and one wide player-Martin -who can switch wings from time to time.i.e still 4-4-2 but only one wide player in midfield.

3-5-2 is ok but again, i personaly favour a 4 man 'proper 'defence; and certainly at Margate we do not have th wing back type players (and frankly-at this level, i don't think any players are good enough and fit enough to play a difficult wing back role ).

Maybe Peters at right back can go some way towards playing this type of wingback role, but it usually fails as it leaves big gaps in defence when players get stuck upfield

It may be different when Yianni plays as from the little i know about him, whilst he plays right midfield, he does not 'park himself on the wing' and comes inside to win and collect the ball, which would get us back to my favoured 4-4-2 with just one wide player/winger type and three in a more central midfield role

I admit you have good young players which have a future in the game but cant see them going too far up and none of them mentioned are as good as Ricky Holmes.

Paul Axon has the potential i believe and Ryan Peters is your best player in quality wise at the moment.

Have to say that RT has done a fantastic job in assembaling a young fit squad of players who over the next couple of seasons could turn MFC into one of the best squads we have ever had at HDP . The trouble is now we have to keep them here and the Directors have to really prove this time that MFC is going somewhere or we will have the exodus like last time when everyone went and we were left with the few that could`nt do much .

Personally i am glad RT is still here and the board still seem to have a belief in him and i think he is slowly gaining alot more respect from us all for what he has done on a minimal budget this season . I think sometimes though you can get togther a better squad of players on a low budget than you can on a higher one because they have the hunger to play instead of pulling in the glory boys who just want the money each week then they go off somewhere else , anyway to all involved welldone on whats been achived so far , let it carry on . Up the Gate.

Paul Axon has the potential. What he needs is a run some where( perhaps on loan) to give him match fitnss, more importantly confidence. In his last 2 games he should have scored 2. In the Chatham game his shot was pushed out by the keeper to Ryan Martin for our 1st.

Get of the youngsters backs "Boo boys". remember the way Dan Dolton was treated and hang your heads.
