a grand a week...

Recommended Posts

is a lot of money for a training ground and probably about 800 quid a week above the commercial rate for such a facility...now I will be happy to apologise if I am wrong but I am most surprised that no one on here has asked the obvious questions regarding this part of the completion arrangements....

why is the MyFc members money being used to subsidise FL when they have no financial interest in FL...?

is the overpayment a hidden agenda to recompense the outstanding directors loans...?

are the existing directors loans being taken off the balance sheet of EUFCL...?

in anticipation and with many thanks from a fully paid member... laugh

Not being as familiar as you with the English, or Kentish, real estate market, I would be much obliged to see the facts underlying this claim. Any info whatsoever as regards Gravesham realty prices would inject a nice dose of objectivity into this discussion.

It's my understanding that the "training ground" leased here encompasses substantially more than just a pitch, and is several acres large and also includes locker room and training facilities. Perhaps things are cheaper in Kent than in the US (although all economic indicators seem to suggest otherwise), but it doesn't seem like an outrageous price to me. I'd be happy to be disabused of my naivete, though. Do you have any realty websites you could point me to or any facts you could share that would help?

Further, this cost includes the management of the training ground and facilities, including running the Fleet Leisure aspect of the ground. Surely, that adds some value as well. But again, I'd joyfully re-evaluate if presented with some facts -- from independent, preferably web-based, sources -- that support your view that this is too much money.

Ah, but you know as well as we do that we don't know the answers.

Nice carrot to dangle, Unc, but as the 'Sue Barker' of this operation (ie. you're asking the questions and you very likely could have a wild stab at the answers), suppose you answer your own questions?

Well for one thing, it's £48000 a year more than we are paying now for the same facilities.

That's £48000 that cant be spent on the team

God I think the penny has begun to drop!

While your on about the cost of using Fleet Leisure, what about the other £40 odd grand to pay for a consultant to sort out the new stadium?

Dare I suggest that very same consultant could possibly (or even allegedly) be one of Botley's existing motley crew of directors???
