Can anyone tell me anything about?

Phil Childs & Jason Hatton

please!

I know they were managers at Langford at the beginning of the season then had a short spell at London Colney.

I also believe Phil may have managed Flamstead and was in charge at Harpenden in 2005-2006 when they were relegated from the Prem.

They have joined Ampthill together with our existing management team.

Ha Ha... didn't you get the message when everyone ignored you on the other thread!

Good track record they've got, relegated Harpenden... and Langford and Colney have been flying this season as well... for everyone else in Div 1 it sounds a great appointment!!!

So how do the existing management team feel about this then southmidsfan?? Surely not happy?? Any reasoning given?? All of you lot have been playing for Goodridge for years havent you?? Cant imagine he'll be happy about company in the hot seat??? P.S. What ever happened to Steve Mahoney.. The manager at Ampthill who resigned 30 mins before his first game?

It was their decision. The club gave them the option of having them on board or not.

Steve Mahoney was assistant coach at Ampthill last year but then had to stop due to work commitments.

He has just emerged again and is now coaching down at Bradwell.

Steve resignation at Ampthill was a good few years ago and happened after he was threatened by one of the players. Those village boys are crazy!!!!!!!!

I predict an exodus from Ampthill, if you can all find clubs to take some of your under-achievers. Why on earth do you need these two characters at your club Southmidsfan. Has Mr. Goodridge had a vote of confidence from the committee?

Steve Mahoney is part of the new management set up at New Bradwell I hear. Steve Tucker is assistant to Steve Orchard. Three Steve's. I bet that's easy to remember for their players!!

Southmidsfan, our paths have crossed on the odd occasion but we don't "know" each other. I have watched a fair few games in your area as I come from the Bedford "ish" area. Ampthill have definately changed for the worse. I think, when you finished 4th, you really needed to bring in the type of players who were going to take you to the next level. From the outside it looks as if you peaked at that point and have now fallen backwards. Perhaps the committe see that too.

I agree with part time, Steve Goodridge can't be fantastically comfortable with having extra people around. I don't see it ending happily.

We didn't conceed many goals last year. This year we leak like a sieve.

We lost 3 of the back line in the close season and have since lost another one to Stony (boooooo!!!). We have a different defence every week.

We do not have a problem creating or scoring (unless of course the chances fall to me!!!!!)

In all honesty southmidsfan i think that Ampthill are under performing badly, against us the 1st 45 you were as good as anyone we've played(broxbourne/Tring and Hanwell inc.). The question has to be why just in bits, i have already said about Stuart Reynolds on this forum and there are other good players so maybe some 'new discipline/ideas' is needed.

Give them the respect you would any others and make your minds up over time, cos if they correct the laid back attitude(this is the only thing i can think it is...discuss) this is yet another talented step 6 side in a division with plenty.

Good question. I'm not sure how I felt in the first place. I was just trying to gather some information really.

We turned up to SLB with only 11 players and had the new guys in charge for the evening (Goodridge and Spooner couldn't make it!).

We had two new players with us and we had to shuffle everyone about. I had to play centre half for the first time.

Saying all this we played very well in the first half and put in a solid second half too.

We are away to Hoddesdon tomorrow with ? players and ? managers.................

Ampthill win again southmidsfan. A good win away to early season title favourites Hoddeson no less. I'm sure that you feel that you've spoken too soon eh? Clearly, bringing to two lads, despite their chequered past as managers has thus far proven a wise move, no?
