'Ricay v. Wealdstone this Saturday

Recommended Posts

Couple of good away wins for Wealdstone in December beating Boreham Wood and putting 5 past Harrow. But this month they've lost at Swifts & Carshalton. Their recent home form is pretty mixed as well, beating Folkestone, losing to Ashford & drawing with Horsham.

I'm feeling really positive about this Saturdays game, if we continue to play as we have in our last two games, I can only see a win for the Blues.

I thought Wealdstone looked a decent side when we played them in Jason & Grant's first game in charge and although they are 4 off the bottom, as we know the league is very tight.

Team selection is tricky now. What do people think? I'd go for...

McMahon

McSweeney Alaile Heffer Kerrigan

BWG Hunter Black Dormer Hodgie

Bricknell

subs: Worster, Blewitt, Shave, Marron and Burbs

I'll probably change my mind several times before Saturday though...

If we can afford to leave Blewitt out things must be looking good!!

My "fire" has been re ignited for this season and I'm really looking forward to Saturday...

I would prefer 4 - 4 - 2 with Burbs linking up with Bricknell tbh but who do you leave out???

Play list...we're going for a theme...Pub Rock...

Anyone remember Eddie And The Hot Rods, The Motors, Chilli Willi and The Red Hot Peppers, Dr. Feelgood? With a smattering of top 40 and other classics....I may even play Jumpin' Jive by Joe Jackson...

...And no "Rule The World", Keith!!!!

It’s got to be the same starting 11 as Tuesday night. We murdered them in the first half and I don’t think there are many teams could live with us if we played like that for 90 minutes.

Although he has a suspension looming, I can’t see how we can leave Paul Shave out of the team. OK, so he’s not our most technically gifted player, but he more than makes up for this in effort and energy. He just keeps going and is the big/strong put your head where it hurts presence that we’ve been looking for in midfield for ages.

I'd agree with Kerrers starting. Think Shave should retain his place for this one after his efforts on Tuesday. Plenty of opportunity for others to during his 4 match ban.

Hotrods - "Get out of Denver"

Feelgood - "Down to the Doctors"

Motors - Not Airport!

You've forgotten Kursaal Flyers & Mickey Jupp!

Got to agree with you on all the points above Paul J.

I noticed that balls that Billy B or Shave would run for (and win) were left for AFC to pick up (and win) when Burbs came on so just for that i would not start him. I'm not denying Burb's is a force on the pitch but that aww leave it attitude was not on a par with the rest of the team on Tuesday night.

I'm Sure Jason/Grant will do us proud regardless of what we come up with.

I think we all agree that Kerrers as a natural left back is a better choice than Darren Blewitt playing out of position. But assuming Blewitt is fit he should be back in his natural position at centre back and not left on the bench - don't forget most fans would say that he was one of our best players for the last season so we must find room for him.

Michael Aliere has been a superb standin but he is on loan and in my view needs to be dropped to the bench, unless the everpresent Steve Heffer needs a rest. Nice to have such selection problems but I do hope that management don't demoralise Darren, one of our most consistent players, by playing him out of position or on the bench
