No. Over 20,000 had signed up beforehand.

Had they paid or just signed up?

Paid up. 50,000 had expressed an interest at that stage.

Groiniad

Ah, cheers for that.

I am guessing the 4.11% who rejected the Ebbsfleet takeover, were Ebbsfleet fans ?

and the 4.14% who didnt want Daish to control January options are morons...

Hi guys I haven't posted for a while <<< MYFC member I'm afraid ;-)

From my own point of view the 95.89% yes vote is great news and really shows that the membership have got behind Ebbsfleet. Rather more concerning is the 10,000 missing members. It has to be hoped that they didn't vote for a reason - maybe they knew it was a shoe-in and will become active once the project really gets up and running. We have to push for media coverage in order to ensure fresh membership continues to come forward and ensure the long term stability of both MyFC and EUFC.

Anyway, I hope to get to my second EUFC match sometime soon (I went to the Stafford away match) and see some of you on the terraces...

I doubt if more than a sprinkling of Fleet fans opposed to the deal would have paid up & signed up. From comments on the MyFC forum, the no camp seems composed of:

1. people who thought that the deal was costing too much & would not leave enough to really benefit the club
2. less thoughtful types who either resented their favourite club not being chosen or had some notion that Ebbsfleet was in a God forsaken inaccessible part of the UK.

Now the vote is official, paid up memberships are streaming in:

There was a bigger abstain campaign than Vote No campaign. This was people who thought the deal was iffy (the majority of the £35 subs going to pay off debts run up by previous G&N directors is not what they signed up for) but realised there was probably no time to arrange a different club before the August deadline to refund subs. This was a bad decision but it was inevitable. MyFC were presenting people with no choice and I am pleased that even a thousand or so were brave enough to vote NO. It's inevitable that the MyFC whips have put flags against the names of us NO-voters (or 'champions of democracy' as I call us) and will carefully monitor anything we post in the forum.

The way the vote was presented sums up the arrogance of the MyFC politbureau. Why were people voting on giving Daish transfer funds before we'd even taken over the club? Of course the people voting NO to the takeover would also vote NO to the Daish transfer question, why would you want someone at a club you didn't want to take over in the first place to start spending our money.

The vast majority of G&N fans have been suckered into supporting the deal since realising how much debt the club was accruing. Those who voted NO or abstained weren't G&N fans, merely those people with an ounce of intelligence amidst the sea of cattle-prodded halfwits that seem to dominate the MyFC cashcow sorry membership.

clown - you really are talking a lot of nonsense here. People were entiteld to vote yes or no - people were entitled to express their opposition to the deal - people were not entitled to post factually erroneous information that could mislead others. And no one is being monitored - to be honest the moderators have better things to be doing with their time.

Nice to see you balance modesty with respect for those who hold a different view to yourself.

Strangely enough, imho, I read both well argued & half-witted arguments from those advising abstention or a no vote.

But what do I know?

Moooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prod me baby, one more time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said. I voted no to the takeover and yes to giving Daish his money.

My reasons were that it seemed Fleet Leisure were getting a very nice deal out of it all, i also felt too much information was being conveniently hidden by confidentiality clauses. The promise of MYFC was transparency and while i expected this to be problematic i feel they have set a precendent about the level of information they are prepared to share. I would have liked far more information and was annoyed at the way some threads on the MYFC forum were shut down when they questioned certain issues.

I voted Yes to give Daish the money as i was confiedent that even with my no vote the takeover would still be passed. I have every faith in him and have been very impressed so far.

To be honest i am not unhappy with the Yes vote as i have grown attached to the club over the past 3 months and wil be attending the away game against York later in the year. Had abstain been an option it is the one i would have chosen.

I am also very disappointd at the turn out of voters. Only 66% of the membership bothered to vote which i feel is very poor, why pay £35 if you are not going to bother logging in to the site now and then??

I didn't vote, but I made a conscious decision not to, basically because I wasn't too happy with so much of the money going into paying off debt but appreciated that there wasn't really any other viable option. I'm aware that that means that my opinion on this one doesn't even get noted but I didn't feel I could totally endorse it and I'm not going to vote for the sake of voting.

All that said, I'm still super excited now.

I could have, but I wasn't (amn't) actually opposed to buying Ebbsfleet as such. So that wouldn't have worked either. Anyway, I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me, just saying that not voting is not necessarily completely thoughtless or showing a lack of interest.

I'm an American who joined myfc for the novelty of it. I wanted to give my support to an awesome concept: fan ownership of a club. In the same sense, I know very little about football in England outside of the EPL. I didn't vote because I felt like I would be diluting the votes of the members that really did know and care. I'm pretty excited about ownership of the team and I look forward to travelling to see my first Ebbsfleet game.
