Well done Jake Eastwood - it was getting cold and I wasn't relishing extra time!

One (good) goal doesnt make a footballer! Mind you thought he played better than he did against Welling...but I cant imagine anyone who would have him in our league team ahead of the others, still lacking awareness and pace at that level i suggest.

Yours is surely not an objective opinion anyway - you play in goal for his sunday team!! I am now awaiting some new registered posters to say how great Jake and the sunday players are...

Well Trotty commented after the game he was MOM so he can't be that bad! I thought he had a good game too and his goal very similar to the ones he scored in Ressie games.

Surely the importany point is that if we can nuture and produce local "talent" through the youth system or the local leagues then it can only be an advantage, anyway if you are good enough it doesnt matter where you come from. Good luck to him lets hope he continues to progress and is encouraged by supporters to do so.

I dont dispute he had a reasonable game and I too have watched reserves and want them to progress (and think these games are an ideal avenue). My point has always been that when we are searching for a quality centr-back a sunday league player is possibly not the answer. For me - and I suggest others - he would be a reasonable backup in injury crisis but that's about it.

btw, Smith was MOM for me by a mile! All about opinions I guess...

He did play well. That piece of skill in the 2nd half when he retained the ball in midfield and went past a couple of their players - almost juggling the ball - was brilliant.

This is exactly my point.
