Windsor 3 Burham 1

Played really well in some spells and got our goals in them. Looked alot stronger in defense than we have for most this season.

Dave Mudge looked very happy. Nice 'Slice' Dave alk

Benny's goal was more of a a team effort (very neatly finished), but Joe's was a superb winger's shot from the edge of the area, and Chennels' strike in injury time was basically individual brilliance.

Pity it came so late, though, the Burnham goalie was surely going to give us the low-down once we went two goals clear and then the ref blew!

Plus, of course, the Colonel was Mustard! Quality verbals there.

BTW in the absence of any official word, anyone know where Craig's hissed off to? grin

A good display from the Red & Green goal machine. It had me puuurrrring with delight.

The 2nd goal was as good a team goal as you will see at any level. The passing and the movement for that goal was sublime.

Again it was good to see us match Burnham at their own game, i.e. you kick us we're kick you.

We always had a team that had skill but the Colonel has injected a bit of Steel into the team.

I'm off to enjoy my mid morning pint of milk. meeow

One other nice note, both the Parsons played notably well and IMO Jake should probably be in the starting team now: he needs more experience (e.g. when to shoot, and when not to...), but he's got the skill and really put in the effort yesterday, chasing all over midfield. I think he'd make a useful pairing with Willo there, a good contrast of styles.

thought it was a good game and windsor were very impressive especially in the first half,i do wonder how you will fair when teams get wise to the very effective use of the off side trap, how come only 90 attendance lol anyway what was the thing about their number four

another positive the pitch looked very good, far better than when we played there.

Not sure how we started playing an off-side trap so close to the halfway line. And it doesn't make me too comfortable, to be honest, really relies on having seriously fast defence just in case someone doesn't get caught... we're fast on either wing but I'm not certain about through the middle.

I'd have us try it in training against (say) Chennels and Case as 'opposition' and see what happens then.

But as you say it is (very) effective, it's worked well in the last few matches I've seen, and it's hardly a new tactic so it may be good enough at this level.

Another massive away turnout by burnham! We must of took about 90 people to their ground...and it was more or less the same 90 at the game tuesday!! No wonder Dave Mudge wanted to leave them!
