They have no reason to be upset.

You have had a bee in your bonnet for some time about the stadium, despite numerous public announcements explaining the project is progressing well. As has been stated many times, the reason there has been no concrete news is because of the confidentiality currently involved. I cannot guarantee it will happen as it is an ambitious and complex project whereby the club will get a stadium for nothing, but I can demonstrate, if it does, it will be on the back of some great progress over the last 12 months. I can also put you in touch with the council who will confirm the same.

Regards,

I heard a rumor,a few weeks ago, I must stress just a rumor!!! with no proof at all,in any shape or form

That the (Board)Club was in negotiations with Eurostar, and Gravesham council.

To build a stadium near Ebbsfleet station. This would be funded mainly by Eurostar.

The Arena would be built as a multi purpose stadium, for use by other sports, and not just football, but it would be erected without a running track.

The club would be able to use the Stadium free of charge or pay a peppercorn rent. but as I stated previously it's was only a rumor nothing concrete.

This would also make the deal for Myfc negotiators far more attractive,I would suggest.

Also could this be one of the reasons why the negotiations between the parties, has also be kept quiet, in the event that the deal is scuppered.

They may have not purchased much with there punters Myfc money,by buying shares in the club, just think though, how much could these people could make out of say promotion of events gigs, and catering etc etc ? just a thought is all

Under the impression that MyFC can't make a single penny from the club?

Thats a fair comment, but with 75% interest, maybe they can influence who gets the contracts or what companies, ooops who owns that company, as I said only a thought.

Wow, I don't think any of us expected that to happen.

Why have you chosen to reply to Brian via PM, Gary? The only reason you've done that is so that you can say "I spoke to the Chairman via PM". Why reply via PM? He replied to you on here.

Brian, some of us understand and appreciate the behind the scenes work that goes into getting a project off the ground and appreciate the need for confidentiality. Just like to say thanks for your efforts to date.

75% with the option to take 100% (within 3 years?? - not sure about timescale).
Hmm, can see exactly what ya mean Busta...

Fair point Alan, it has been done to death thus far.

I wonder if Uncle Urchin knows how to use a PM?

Are you sure ?

From the reply to my pm, (also by pm) I have no doubts this is the genuine BK.
I'm sure if the board are in major discussions about a new ground, they do not want it splashed about on here!!
That is why I pm'ed.

Having been previously involved for three years in a new stadium project, I can confirm that the process is painstaking with a trillion factors to be considered, along with extensive lobbying within the council chambers.

Remember, it's the planners and enviromentalists who hold the key to everything, not the Chief Execs etc. They are just the public facing side of it.

One thing we seem to be forgetting though; won't the Stadium be owned by the Development Company and not MYFC (who only own the Football Club)?

So, if BK and his team wave their magic wand and secure the Stadium for free (no doubt with a 101 caveats), what's to stop them charging the Football Club a considerable fee for it's use.

If they are seeking nearly a grand a week for Fleet Leisure, I dread to think what this could add up to!

The indications over the past week, during MyFC deliberations on the purchase agreement, are that the Development Company will not be involved in the ownership of any new ground.

It has also been indicated that the rent to the club will be similar to what exists at on the current lease.

Whether these pans-out or not we will have to wait and see. But EUFC does have an existing lease on Stonebridge Road - and that has the potential to provide the club with a good bargaining tool.

How? And please explain this in really basic terms - you will be dealing with someone who diesn't even know who owns the ground now!

Irrespective of who owns the ground, the club have 18 years remaining on the lease. So, if there is an attempt to screw the club, then there is an option to stay where we are. I suspect that someone is looking to develop the current ground for some other commercial purpose and would not be happy to wait around until the lease runs out. In this situation the club could simply say 'you guys sort it out between yourselves - as long as we are paying a rent that is reasonable and acceptable to us'. Not saying this will happen - but, depending on who wants what - the lease could be very useful in negotiations.
