"Blue Square South club Maidenhead United are so fed up with their poor home form this season that they are arranging 'away' coach travel for the players for Saturday`s home fixture against Braintree Town!"

 

"High Wycombe-based Harlequin Travel, who transport the Maidenhead players to away games, have agreed to supply a coach to pick the Magpies players up from their York Road ground at 1pm on Saturday and take them on a trip around Maidenhead before dropping them back at the ground at 1.30pm."

with the rebels not playing saturday i went to the maidenhead basingstoke game and was quite disappointed by the standard of conference south, maidenhead started well scoring first but then sat back hoping to win and basingstoke played well enough to win their first goal a classic goal from 40 yards free kick, goalkeeper error by chico someone lol, anyway what was even more diappointing and surprising was the lack of vocal support fromthe magpie fans they were like statues for 70 mins and then started to shout "united" and so on but it was too little too late, about a hundred basingstoke fans who had travelled were much louder and seemed to have some passion for their team. it has been some years since ive been to york road but what happenned to their support they have spectators there but they are very quiet.

I know Maidenhead is a bigger town than Windsor but walking about it you do get a feeling that inbreeding is rife.
