SO EACH MAN PAID £10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

 

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY £25

 

SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH £5.

 

ON THE WAY THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT £5 EVENLY BETWEEN 3

MEN,

 

SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A £1 AND KEPT THE OTHER £2 FOR HIMSELF.

 

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID £9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF £27

 

ADD THE £2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = £29.

 

WHERE IS THE OTHER POUND?

Hey Guys, you've got to remember each man actually paid £10 for the room not £9.

 

The £5 refund should have been spilt 1 & 2/3 each

 

3 x 1 & 2/3 = 5

 

If you take the 1 & 2/3 refund from the original 10 its leaves 8 & 1/3

 

3 X 8 & 1/3 equals 25 then plus the 5 refund gets back to 30

 

The missing pound is in the TURDS!!!!! or the Bell Boy is in the Sh1t !!!

First line is correct - they paid £27
Second line is wrong - should subtract the £2 the bellboy kept = £25 which is the amount the hotel recieved.
No missing pound

3 x £9 does equal £27, but the £2 tip is included in that £27, so it makes no sense to add the £2 to £27 to make £29.

 

 

They paid £25 for the hotel room, £2 for the tip (£27), and then got £1 back each to make the original £30.
