in an outrageous example of blind arrogance the FA have seen fit to ban Colin for 6 games as a result of the handball fiasco at the wealdstone away game...he has also been fined 500 quid which is a ridiculous amount of money for a non paid... non league manager...

the powers that be refused to look at the video evidence that instigated colins fury and took on board fully the somewhat clouded version of events as reported by the hapless officials..

colin may well have been wrong in berating the referee but surely the video evidence that we have all seen should have been enough for at least some mitigation and also action against the gormless officials who spent most of the game strutting around looking for the cameras and the celebrities in the crowd instead of officiating the game...

can we have the video link back up please robbie..just to pi55 us off a little more.... laugh

I haven't seen the video evidence and you may be right about mitigating circs ............ however

THE REFEREE IS ALWAYS RIGHT and games cannot be played without that being understood by the managers. Players should also understand it. The fans can berate the officials as much as they like but I do get fed up of the managers of many clubs going off at the officials. I have no doubt that when a manager questions an official a red card and a hefty fine is the right response.

The game cannot be played without the referee and officials. It can be played with one or two players sent off. It can be played with incorrect decisions. It can even be played without fans but there must always be a ref.

I agree that players and managers have to accept that the ref is alwayts right during the course of the game. However, what seems very wrong here is the size of the punishment. How often have we seen Premiership managers berating officials and receiving no more than three match bans with a £5,000ish fine, an amount that is small change to these highly paid individuals. The scales of punishment are all wrong.

the video clearly shows a penalty and a red card were the only correct decisions and it also clearly shows the referee can see the incident...at first he pointed to the spot and then for some reason changed his mind and that action alone IMO clearly indicates he saw the offence...

we know that managers should exercise a little restraint but thats okay for armchair fans to spout who have never so much as kicked a ball but as anyone who has experienced the heat of battle will tell us...it aint as easy as that...officials have a duty of care and responsibility to the environment they and the players/managers are in when they accept these appointments and should at least have the bottle to make the correct decisions instead of taking the soft easy options...

and yes the ban and the fine are not really commiserate with life at NL level...

shame on the FA...

It just seems like another example of the FA refusing to look at all the evidence.

I think this is an excellent idea. It would only take 100 regulars at a fiver a head and would show that we are all behind Colin. Would Nett accept donations?
