Last time i looked East Thurrock was in Essex, so we actually won our first away game, which was in essex!

The only reason it was a scrap was due to a mixture of a poor referee and not putting the result beyond doubt. We had a cast iron penalty turned down, a goal disallowed for offside despite the offending player not interfering, we hit the post on several occasions and the young keeper made some corking saves in the second half, spurned on by our inevitable barrage of abuse from the ridiculous own goal. It only became a scrap in the last ten minutes as our players had run themselves into the ground, playing their fourth match in 10 days, and hadn't sealed the points.

Relief when the final whistle blew was immense. Gives us a sniff of promotion again, need your Urchins to have a couple of slips. Makes interesting viewing

yes.....well....urchins v's leyton.....very poor game...they did exactly what they had to do to stop us playing and we in turn looked f***** clueless......had several chances but just one of those nights.....

 

next saturday is the crunch I think....thats a must win for us and if you draw I reckon thats you and Uxbridge out of it...if one of you lose and we and the donkeys win.....whoever loses is out of it......if we lose....its still in our hands anyway....so we're still marginal favourites but if we play like we did last night......hmmmmmm....least said....

 

thats my theory anyway...but who really knows...way things are swinging......harlow will probably go up.....!!

to be honest I think we'll beat Uxbridge, they're not a particularly good team, and their top scorer is suspended I believe. Sammy is back in form for us, having scored in each of the last three games. Agreed that both sides need to win to keep in contention but it should go our way.

The facts are pretty simple, win 5 of yout last 6 and you're promoted. Doesn't sound all that easy thought does it. Of course we're banking on catastophe at Northwood so we can get up but certainly we'll be keeping a close eye on things. If we're still in with a shout when you go to Marlow you can rest assured there will be more than a few Rebels there wishing the home team well.
