Can RobbieO come on asap to give me his assessment of Mr Panayotiou, there is surprisingly no mention of any controversial offside decisions in Leverstock Green's match report:

In Division 1, Hoddesdon's result means good news for the chasing group of teams.

Now theoretically there are 4 teams potentially on 40 points (Hoddesdon, Haringey, Stony and New Bradwell), and Royston potentially on 39 points. A five horse race with Kentish Town and SLB also chasing.

An anorak on another's Forum went to this game and provided an interesting report, I see that NeutralFan and Jonno kept it quiet about the small programme issued:

South Midlands League Division 1
Hoddesdon Town 2 v 2 Brache Sparta ( attendance 49)

Admission £4 and £2 with the programme selling for 50p

With thanks to the Kentish Town secretary who advised on good grounds in wet weather and this message board, I finally found a match that was on. (Sun Postal and Kentish Town were both off.) The only disappointment was the fact that the programme editor was away and instead of their superb programme, just a small issue was available.
Looking at the pitch you wouldn't have thought we'd had any rain at all. This is a ground well worth considering for the future on wet days.
The programme stated that Hoddesdon were in black and white and Brache in blue! Wrong!! It turned out that Brache had turned up with only their black and white kit, so Hoddesdon had to wear their away kit. Once I'd discovered which team was which it made a big help. The first half was a turgid affair. The ref wouldn't let the game flow and kept blowing for petty fouls. The home team were well on top and finally scored. The second half saw the home team miss tow great chances. Number 7 managed to blast over from 3 yards out. Suddenly Brach realised if they played football on the ground instead of long balls, they could create problems. Suddenly they scored two quick goals to take the lead. The game was really exciting now as both teams attacked. Hoddesdon scored from the penalty spot to equalise and the game ended in a draw. This is a really friendly club well worth a visit. I was surprised there were only 49 at the match with so much local football being off.

Thanks Wader. It could have been a bigger margin, but not complaining. We needed to respond well after our shocking performance last week against Cockfosters.

I see that Edgware Town were turned over yesterday by Enfield Town, I bet that went down well with Gavin:

Saturday 3.00pm - Edgware Town 0 Enfield Town 1

A bus and 2 tube rides later saw me at the doomed White Lion Ground. Enfield spoiled Rob Blackburne's record of 5 clean sheets on the trot by scoring in the 7th minute but then hit the woodwork from a spot kick 10 minutes later. Two minutes after that Edgware also failed from the penalty spot, firing wide of the target. Both teams had plenty of good chances to score during the remainder of the match but Enfield held on to nick the points.

A nice old ground this one, well worth a visit. It's a shame developers have got their hands on it. Admission was £7 and programmes were £1. If you haven't been to Edgware yet do it soon while you still can.

Haha! I did the prog for yesterdays game!! We were given this fixture at short notice and as Jane was just getting set to jet off on holiday, she emailed me and asked me to put something together.

It served its purpose (welcoming the officials and opposition, squads, histories etc) but was certainly not a patch on HTFC's usual offering!!! In fact, I reckon it was the only prog in the entire SSMFL that doesnt have a single advert in it!!

The guy who posted that, however, did recieve a copy of our award winning programme from our previous game at home to S E Benfica, which he was very grateful for (cost free too!) and was amazed at the size of it!!

Normal service to resume next week..........

So you were put on the spot by Jane then, I bet that sent you into a state of panic having to put a programme together at such short notice, will Jane be doing the programme on Tuesday for the Division 1 Cup game against 'us'. I'm surprised that the guy didn't mention in his report that you had kindly given him a copy of your usual programme, I also sent one of your programmes to an anorak from the another Forum recently who had heard about it, he too was amazed although I did happen to mention that Kentish Town's had beaten it in last seasons SSML Division 1 programme award which didn't go down too well in the corridors of power at Lowfield.

Yeah but you come to expect it from Rolt. Biggest numptie to ever be involved in non league football if you ask me. Don't get me started on the monthly/yearly fixture debate!!!

Yes Rhodes, normal service on Tuesday.

I agree - we rarely created. Although I thought the goals we gave away were sloppy. However, can't argue about the third! Deserved it especially after our win at your place when we only had a couple of chances and our keeper got M.O.M.

Jonno - So what dealings have you had with Phil Rolt previously then, I thought Jane would have all the contact with him on behalf of your Club. Obviously you would side with the usual suspects on having a full seasons fixtures in one hit but Phil believes the current system works perfectly well and I agree with him, if it ain't broke why fix it.

What dealings do I have????

I am a supporter of my local team that plys its trade in a league that he organises the fixtures for. What dealings do you think I have??

Yes but you don't have any direct dealings with him and don't know the man from adam, you're treating him as public enemy number one purely on the basis that he issues monthly fixtures rather than for a whole season which you don't agree with whereas others do
