Hello Ebbsfleet fans,

 

just want to inform you about a current football project in Germany which has some similarities with the venture MyFC, for which reason you might be interested in this story. The former Bundesliga club (until 1995) and German Cup Winner (in 1985) KFC Uerdingen 05 - the club which I support - is as so often again in a lot of financial trouble. The fans are fed up with the club administration because they have allowed the club to live beyond its means. In order to get the club's affairs in order before insolvency proceedings are set to be opened as well as guide the club back to "calmer waters" and new success in the long term, the idea of a club controlled by the fans through a democratic voting process has been taken up. Not only KFC-fans like the idea, the project has attracted a lot of supporters from all over Germany - similar to the MyFC venture. The project's members call themselves the "Traditionsretter" (= rescuer of the tradition). So KFC Uerdingen 05 might become the German version of Ebbsfleet United FC soon...
