Here is Time FM's prologue for today's game ...

 

Hastings United v AFC Hornchurch at The Pilot Field.

Ryman Premier League

 

A disappointing week that saw the Urchins lose twice at home, first in a poor performance against Harlow and then beaten well by Ramsgate in the League Cup. That means they have only the league playoffs to battle for and there is no better place to start than at Hastings. So they need to do better than King Harold did, and come away from Hastings alive and kicking and with a victory!

 

It will be interesting to see how the squad shape up after the grilling they received, following last Saturdays lack lustre performance. Colin McBride in his post match interview did imply that heads could roll in the following week, and that new blood was required.

 

It’s a good time to visit The Pilot Field though, as Hastings have only won once in their last 12 Ryman league games. Picking up just six points has seen them slump to 2nd from bottom, and in great danger of battling relegation.

 

The Urchins should see this match as an opportunity to get back into winning ways, and winning well will be just as important as the three points. The chance to stay with the playoff pack is still there, but they cannot afford to drop points against sides well below them in form and position.

Hi Oscar!

 

Urchins playing in red/white and Hastings in a 'West Ham' style kit. Urchins started brightly and had a great chance after 4 minutes when Dean Green blasted over the bar from four yards.

 

After 15 mins Simon Parker also had an excellent header just going wide.

 

Bright sunny day at Pilot Field with little wind.
