Good performance today with a solid debut for Dave Thomas, and was unlucky with his free kick that he was not the scorer of the second goal.

Much better team performances recently with Lee Ridell keeping the passion on the pitch going and B&B bringing in the right class of players.

Starting to move forward!

Fair result ..and have to say if barney had not made that fantastic save 3 mins before we got our equaliser it could have gone 3-1 ..the save was class...just ashame we did not trouble there keeper just a little bit more...we may have snatched it...but more than happy the way the team reacted today , never gave up..what more can we ask for..

well done ...Mark and Barney and the team...

good result today, great to see the passion from the players again, deserved the point and for once we got it and the luck we needed.

dave thomas had a great debut today, deserved the man of the match award, but i thought that all the players were really trying too.

the defence is still a bit shaky but we are getting more luck and creating more up front and getting good ball in the midfield.

Another performance full of determination that we weren't going to to leave with nothing. Thomas had a cracking debut (shouldn't be forgotten that both goals came from his original shots) and once again the regular stars shone through (Connor, Riddell and especially Harper, who after a shaky start to the season looks like a very high class centre half). But one player who I think has changed the team more than any other since his arrival who doesn't seem to get a lot of praise for his work is Meddie Nsubuga. It is a long time since we've had a player who 'looks after the ball' quite as well as Meddie does and, despite being at a much lower level now, he is playing a role previously demonstrated brilliantly by Danny Bailey, Mark Hawthorne, etc. He breaks up attacks, seems to always have time on the ball and hardly wastes a pass. And he gives the midfield 3, as B and B, like to play balance as he sits while Riddell and Thomas, or previously Abby, get forward. He can also shoot when given the chance, as demonstrated during the first half today.

On a slightly different topic, can't wait to see if we can actually get a game postponed due to international call ups, as Connor and Gumbs go and represent Anguila or whoever. And I've also heard rumoors that Abby and Meddie are in action that day for Nsubuga Isle against the Isle of Gosport. wink wink wink

Yep, great result. The players had fight in them right to the end. David Thomas had a very good debut, never giving up whenever he lost the ball.

Also to score goals and the first miuntes, and last minutes, of the second half is also a good positive. That's when we have usually been conceding them.

The players had a good buzz about them in the club house afterwards, and are really looking forward to playing Farnborough on Saturday. We have a team with self belief and confidence now.

It was a well earned and deserved point.

I've just read the match report in the NLP. They gave the game a 5/5 marking. No other game in our division got that. The next best were Fleet's 4-2 win over Thatcham, and Taunton's 7-1 win over Newport - both of which got 4/5.

They describe the match as a "thrilling end-to-end affair" with Daly hitting a last gasp leveller.

We also had the second best attendance (201) after Farnborough's home match

Could not go yesterday, due to ilness :-( but it is a strange one at the moment. The spirit in the camp seems much higher since Betts has taken over and the performances are much, much better.

Saying that though, it still worries me that we are only a few points off Bracknell with their games in hand. We are also close to Andover and Taunton, but they have a lot of games in hand over us. We need to put together a run of wins and the Bracknell match is probably one of the most important games we have had in years.

I do admit thiugh I like the look of the squad now. Although I feel we are still missing a striker that will score on a regular basis...

Interesting what you say about Dave Barratt, Glen, cos Lee Riddell told me on Saturday that he had been on holiday but was at training last week and was not far off a return. Also, on the subject of Moleski, I thought when he was carried off in whichever game it was (Abingdon?), they said he wouldn't be back this season.

AFAIK, Dave was away over the Christmas period, hence his non-inclusion on any of the squads for that time. He was at training on Thursday as I spoke with him, but I am not aware of why he wasn't there on Saturday.

To the best of my knowledge, he is still with us and I feel has a lot to offer us in an attacking sense and I am sure Mark and Barney will get that from him.
