Our pitch is in better nick than last season. The water laying on top soon disappears with 24 hours of fine drying weather. It soon drains anyway these days. Can't see any real reason for them to make matters worse just for a friendly.

Good decision to cancel I think, for more reasons than one.

What they should have done is opened the ground still and had a training session at HDP with everyone welcome to come along and watch . The bar would be open anyway so you could have a hot food stand open for refreshments and afterwards meet up with the squad for a chat , some could have a moan , and make a whole afternoon of it for all . up the Gate.

Not necessarily so. After some drying weather over night & early morning the pitch looked clear of water & nigh on playable & on speaking to someone in the know & also in his opinion,it MIGHT well have been possible to play a league game today after all, had one been scheduled.
Besides wasn't Billericay's match beaten by the weather too.

Without doubt if we had a league game today it would have been on,the only reason this game was called off is because it was a nothing game and yes the pitch was a bit wet but playable to say the least,IMO the right decision was made, also it was good to see the team train and have a chat to them in the bar afterwards,a very enjoyable morning, also thanks to TAFFY for the cuppa.

Possibly, yes.Whilst the pitch looked much better on Saturday from what it was looking like on Friday & looked playable yesterday, from a distance & despite personal opinions from on high, only Ray(groundsman)could really tell us the true state of the pitch from close inspection & he wasn't around at the time to ask.

I see there was rain overnight last night too.

My pleasure lads, I enjoyed seeing the lads train and play 5 a side. Great rapport between them all too, good to see. Also good to see Corbishley is still part of the scene.
