I know that the UNITED bit had to be added on as there is already an Ebbsfleet FC. But with the impending take-over of your club would there be much arguement to changing the name to reflect the owners. Something like My Ebbsfleet FC (MEFC) would keep the major part of the name, plus acknowledge the money that MyFC are using to move the club forward. It might also be useful for attracting sponsorship.

I thought I had already read the most ridiculous of ideas to come out of the MyFc farce, but this really tops them all.

You lot really know how to p155 off all the clubs real supporters don't you.

Do us a favour and just go away. Post your ridiculous ideas on some other website.

Don't know if he's a real MyFC member or not, and frankly it doesn't matter. The overwhelming majority of members want no part in making such a crass name change. The only name change given any credibility at all is the possibility of changing the name back. But I don't know if that's really a possibility with Eurostar's sponsorship at all.

With the expected development and upward movement of the club I would have expected some imagination for the new name. A name in line with future expectations, a name that reflects the accessability to mainland Europe- how about Inter Ebbsfleet !

or would that be a bit to European for the average Englishmen

We have and indeed had no problem with giving up our name and letting Ebbsfleet drop the United and become just Ebbsfleet FC.

 

But we had no contact and presumed they preffered 'Utd' (although i think the original 'ebbsfleet fc' without utd is better!?)

 

If of course anybody wants to contact us after the DD and make us an offer we will be happy to discuss!!

 

As we are only a decent sunday league team it wont take much to persuade us im sure!

As Hirsty's speciality is Strongbow, CIDER FC would be more appropriate.

 

In Austria sponsors/owners seem to have their names added to that of the Club in question. Red Bull Salzburg is, I believe, an example. Hopefully this will not occur here.

It's just got to be a wind-up. It took me a minute or two to realise the pronunciation of "Juan" as the Spanish do, i.e. "One". The special one? I'll say!

 

There were a couple of suggestions about a name change a while ago but the vast majority who posted were all for keeping the current one or reverting to the original.

 

The main reasons given were due to the historical connection and not wanting to upset the existing fans.
