Something Thats Bugging Me!

Recommended Posts

I'm not going to make any mention of yesterdays debacle on the pitch. However, I am geting the hump....ever so slightly... (and yesterdays result didn't help!) over the fact that the newly refurbished bar only appears to be available in its entirity before the start of the game. I cannot remember the last time there wasn't a function going on which meant that the bottom half of the standing area is "off limits" to the majority of the supporters. It does seem a bit silly to have refurbished the place but to have less room than we had last season!

I can fully appreciate that we need the revenue from functions on a saturday night BUT that should be at the expense of the supporters who use the bar week after week. Surely it can't be too difficult to keep the whole area open for the first hour after the game and make it available to anyone hiring it from say, 6:00pm?

At least, that way we would get more space and get to use the toilet fcilities that the club were so proud to announce that we would be having at the start of the this season!

I know it sounds like I am whinging but I am proud of what the club has done and I wouldn't like to think people are being put off putting a couple of quid behind the bar due to lack of space.

Anyone have any comments on this, or is it just me!

Totally agree with you and, I heard several people moan yesterday, ad left to go to there local for a drink. Seems like an own goal to me. Sorry the pun.

Yes I understand the function area has to be clean for the evening, but I am sure by about 6.30 the fans will have thinned out, then the partion can go up. It was the same after the Morecambe match, went in to check the results and celebrate and could not get in the door.

Sorry GNFC not a good way to encourage fans to come in the Club House after the match. Also having to use the outside loo's, going back to the dark days when the chaps had no loo inside at all.

Yes, the inside toilet is indeed a hit with me......although I do miss fighting with the brambles etc. and the danger that bees, wasps etc. can bring when when one's "old chap" is on display, during the course of nature, that the outside facilities offer !....or do I ?

Cheers,

One other slight complaint - the old bugbear of programmes, or rather lack of them.

Last season we had an excuse - increasing crowds - this season, arriving at 2.45, I would expect to be able to get a programme, but couldnt Saturday.

Against Morecambe as well, it took a walk all the way down to the Car Park end to get one - they had 2 or 3 unused boxes there and yet none at the main entrance.

Please try and sort this out before our last couple of home games - especially if they are segregated, as like Saturay, you couldnt go to the Car Park end to get one.

This must lose the club revenue, as it means unsold programmes at one end and people wanting them at the other end.

If the game is segreegated, only 100 programmes max are needed at the Car Park end (unless theres a very large away following), and even if it isnt segregated, most people still enter at the main gate, so the majority of the programmes should be that end. If one end is then running out, please arrange for extra to be brought from the other end, unless of course, they have been completely sold out, when thats impossible.

Like I said - if programmes are sold out completely, then fair enough, but even then, the crowd was in excess of 2000 for Dagenham at the start of the season - how did we have enough programmes for that, yet not for a game with less than 1300 present? And given that I got there 15 minutes before kick off, how many of that 1300 arrived after me ? I presume its something to do with a total programme run agreed at the start of the season, and therefore means that anyone arriving less than 15-20 minutes before the start will not get a programme for the last couple of games as well? It just seems daft to force people to arrive up to 30 minutes before a game, just so they can get a programme

I just feel that the club has still lost out on extra Revenue from selling out more than 15 minutes before kick off ?? And there have been 2 or 3 other games where I have had to walk all round the ground to get a programme, when there were plenty at the car par end, yet none at the Plough end.
