Todays game

Thought we played well in the first half, but we were woeful going forward in the second. We just didn't seem to have any ideas.

Until today, I felt fairly confident that we would stay up, but if we play this badly again, we are really going to struggle.

Let's just hope today was no more than a blip.

Rob Owen and Louis Evans booked. Two crap decisions by a crap official who let Chester get away with three or four fouls similar to Owen's before he booked any of theirs. That said, he then went mad and sent off two of theirs!

Thought we played pretty well, until faced with nine men when all we did was pass across the defence to Lovett! And how Tos won man of the match, I don't know!

Justin Skinner was also booked, Phil Handford was sent off!

We should of least of get 1 goal, with Liam missing a sort of open goal. And in the last 5-10 minutes even though they had 9 men in defence, we should of got a goal but the crossin was terrible and the no-one got on the end of the good crosses.

C'mon boyz lets have a better performance against Leigh RMI, which is becoming a bigger game, as the days pass.

He got sent off while Bentley was receiving treatment right at the beginning of the second half.

All our bookings seemed to be for dissent of one sort or another, and should have been avoided.

Francis did have bronchitis.

As i couldnt post on Super Ds message ill do it here. What annoyed me the most was that we were playing at home, u need goals to win matches and we played the first 65 minutes with 1 up front...How negative is that or is it a reflection on how poor our strikers are?

Anyway the match.....Good first 30 minutes and deserved a goal. Thought Louie was sharp and hungry and caused them problems. Second half he got no real support and unfortunately went AWOL.

My other point is again around another favourite subject of mine, Nick Burton. He could and should've done better for their goal. This guy simply isnt good enough to play Conference football in a flat back four. He doesnt cleanly clear headers when jumping against strikers and he has suspect pace. Thought Wilkins was a class above him today and poor Jay Lovett was woeful with his distribution in the last 30 minutes. Tostao was never MOM, Steve Mckimm was mine by a long chalk. Class act, well played Steve. Midfield is clearly good enough for this league and we all pretty much know what we need in the summer.

I thought this was the line up:

Attack: Tostao, Evans

Midfeild: Bentley, Macca, Owen, Jako

Defence: Burton, wilkins, skins, Lovett

Goalkeeper: Wilko

In addition to my message in reply to Super Daz's thread I would like to wish Francis a speedy recovery from his illness. Also I note from Andy's page in today's programme that Kevin Budge is back from his loan spell and is likely to feature in the first team before the end of the season. Finally, what is the position with our two acquisitions from Gillingham who haven't featured lately?

Thought Evans booking was for the tackle - the ref decided to book him before he got anywhere near him.Possibly, partly because of the push & shove in the 6 yard box a few minutes before??

The Skinner case was farcical - yes, the guy making the tackle dserved a second yellow, but how the ref managed 3 extra bookings after that, heaven only knows - 1 may have been warranted for back chat from a chester player, but even then it should simply have been a case of "Calm down" rather than a flurry of cards for something and nothing.

I thought Louie's booking was for kicking the ball away after the ref had blown for another free kick to Chester? After a while I said to my mate, for gods sake ref give them a goal and have done with it!

Doe's anyone know if we've had the pleasure of this ref before? It was probably the same ref we had when we played Stevenage away. If so, I can understand his performance!

No that was Mr.Kettle yesterday - we had his main rival for most useless bloke in black at Stevenage though - Mr. Harris.

We were warned by Dagenham fans at the start of the season that these two were the worst - any other contenders? lol

(I feel a can of worms being opened.....)
