It's your opinion that you decide to slate Robbie Williams, and you're very much entitled to that opinion, but when you’re slating the music, well that's another thing. When compared to likes of stuff that you call music, well there isn't even a comparison.

Robbie Williams is the greatest male solo singer at the moment, and with an £80 million contract, I think that there is a majority of people out there that would definitely disagree with your opinion.

I can see both sides to be honest.

 

I don't dislike Robbie Williams, and no-one can deny he's done bloody well for himself. An £80m contract is not to be sniffed at.

 

Talented? Hmm, I'm not sure. I think as a lyricist he has a certain 'talent' but I'm not sure how involved he gets in the music.

 

The greatest male solo singer at the moment? Certainly the most popular. Greatest? Well, to be fair, he doesn't exactly have much competition. I'd much prefer to see him than the likes of Justin Timberlake, but on a larger scale, I think people would argue that someone like Paul Weller is better. It depends how you define the use of the word "great".

 

I'd agree that he's certainly the best "pop" star we have at the moment, but I think he has a long way to go before he's to be taken more seriously.

I think his songs (which he don't write) are drivel.

 

The lyrics are at best cheese and his attempt at being a "rock" star are lame as the music he produces testifys.

 

However you can't deny his success, so I won't. I just think the music buying public as a rule haven't got a clue!

From what I understand, Robbie Williams writes the lyrics, and Guy Chambers, before their falling out, wrote the music.
