As has been said before,we need to cut out the silly bookings.

 

For example, Tostoa's booking on saturday for a ridiculous late challenge trying to prevent a free kick, for which in my opinion he was lucky the card wasn't a darker shade

This is something we need to address urgently.

Last year we were the blue eyed boys who could do no wrong against those wealthy, let's buy success clubs like Aldershot and C****Y. I'm certain that many refs came to Stonebridge Road with red tinted glasses, for we often seemed to get the rub of the green.

This year we are the naive newcomers, who appear to fighting (literally) to stay up. Our battling style is not winning us any freinds with the league or with refs, which is why we think the refs are so crap this year compared to last.

I'm not suggesting we change our game plans, merely put our thinking caps on before the game and not give the refs any oppotunity to get tough with us. I wonder what % of bookings this year have been needless , such as retaliation, time wasting, arguing and failing to retreat 10 yards ?

Cut this out and become the refs favourite. If you can't beat the big boys, let us join them.

Well yes we certainly need to clean up our act Tostao booking was crazy no need for it, then you get the Bentley sending off, why, these ref's just do what they feel, because the player who went for a 50/50 with Bentley also kicked out at Wilkerson and only got a yellow, that was a sending off offence as he kicked out after Wilkerson got the ball.

The game with Halifax will hopefully be a clean game with us nice and safe and them missing a play off space, just us winning and playing out the season.

Looking at the tables in the NLP, we are not the worst offenders as far as number of fouls are concerned - yet we have the second highest number of cards against us. Some silly bookings for dissent, etc I know, but even so, bookings to fouls is a higher proportion than most, I believe.
