Waltham Forest Update

lovely stuff

Recommended Posts

Was that the Waltham Forest Chairman who produced that quality comment from next to the dugout in the 2nd half??

Shouted something along the lines of "I don't want you to play well, I want you to win!!" laugh Those who were there, and have a good sense of hearing, I'm sure will have found it amusing!!

Also, the people in the Refreshments Hut, who happened to be very friendly and provided marvellous service, did however remind me of a scene out of the League of Gentlemen!! grin

well played boys, and also well played to their chairman, with his "i don;t want you to look good, i want you to f@cking win" outburst. oh and their player that turned himself inside out so that he fell over. and they had a girl playing for them

I'd just like to second the views on the refreshments - Can't fault the 20p flapjacks, and the tea was lovely! Still not a patch on what we have at home, but certainly one of the better away tea bars. Perhaps we can introduce a ranking system... or perhaps I'm just being more than a little sad alk

Anyway... a good battling performance, and some solid individual performances, especially from the defence. Can't fault the team's commitment either, on a night where I'm sure most people would have rather been indoors. It was so pleasing to see Hammatt, Crace and Deane working their socks off up front to deny Forest space and time to pick a pass, it was clear that this made the back 5's job a lot easier.

I really think that like a lot of games in this division, the first goal was absolutely vital. Forest looked like a very hard working side, and had they taken the lead, I'm sure they'd have been hard to break down... score the first goal, and you force them to open up, which may bring more chances. This is why I think that the first goal against Edgware on Saturday will be so crucial, especially with their 'mean' defence.
