To date we have played 13 Home League games.

13 x 3 points = 39 points.

Our record.

5 x win x 3 points = 15

4 x draw x 1 point = 4

4 x lost x 0 points = 0

total 19 points from 39 available.

scored 15 against 12

Relegation form !

Thank God we are better away !!!

Not too confusing I hope:

All Home wins against teams that are currently from Bottom Half of the Table(exception Avely 10th/22).

All Home losses against teams that are currently in Top Half of the Table (exception W&F 13th/22)

All Home Draws agains teams in Middle Third of the Table.

Old Towner's right...not too flattering.

Home losses have been low scores... 1-0 (3) and 2-0 (1).

(Only 15 goals in 13 Home games)

Suggests a defensive mindset of manager/players against stronger sides?

Good Away record can be deceiving in that the 7 Away wins have, with the exception of Redbridge (currently 4th) been against teams in the Bottom Third of the League.

Even the Away wins saw the Home team score 2 goals on five occasions.

As the rest of the season unfolds ETFC will have to play 4 of the Top 8 teams in their remaining 8 games at Home.

Suggest they will have to take a more aggressive stance to finish well.

In their remaining 10 Away games they will play aginst 6 teams in the Top Half of the League.

Won't be able to let theses sides score 2 at home and still get a win.

More aggression at home and better defence away appear to be the order of the day.

The two Away draws were against Top Third sides.

Which other club year-in-year-out gains more points away than at home? Can any other club claim a similar 7 year run of more away points than home points.I very much doubt it. doah

Is Brimsdown just a jinxed ground for us? Or do other teams raise their games at our place? Or do other teams pack the defense at our place and we don't have the tactital nouce to break them down (or deal with their occassional long-ball counter attacks)?Or is it all of the above combined?

Happy Birthday Jim.

Even though the A-League has only been going for 3 years it has been noticeable that despite teams having to trave thousands of miles to play each other there has been no discernable Home Ground Advantage.

Some theories include:

The eveness of the League and;

The fact that the players have become so mobile (played for 3 or 4 different clubs) that they are immune to local support and;

As the players become more professional they see each game (despite WHERE it is) as a job for an individual rather than as a n honour to represent the local team.

How many 'Locals' in the ETFC squad?
