it looked a bigger crowd to me,there was 60 in the away end,is the figure just those who pay, or do they include complementries. There were 8 photographers today, is that a record for a not very important league game.

I'd assume it includes all complimentaries (if they're ticked off on a sheet), just not staff.

300 or more who turned up on New Years Day, to see an entertaining and winning Fleet performance, decided not to bother again today. I really dont know what the team need to do to keep them coming through the gate.

Money, unfortunately Alan, money. When one doesn't have any one can't shell thirteen quid to get in, hence my absence for most of the season. However, your question may also have been answered in another post regarding folks wearing other teams' colours to our matches ie most people in our area already support another team and only come to the Fleet now and again. Or locals just can't be bothered. Or a combination of all three?

It was rather cold, but no colder than on Tuesday.

To be honest yesterdays crowd was more in keeping with our recent gates it was Tuesdays 1,400 that was a surprise.

 

Still a bit dissapointing that after watching such a good display a third of them didn't come back.

Yesterday was also the FA Cup 3rd round - so a lo5t of fans who go to Fleet when 'their' team arent playing/playing away will have been missing!

Also some of the missing fans might only have been visiting the Area for the holiday period.

 

There was someone in Tuesday's crowd who I've only seen twice before, and the first time was a previous Christmas.

I remember when we used to get 2 men and a dog for midweek games on a freezing cold winters evening. yes we need bigger crowds but it has grown significantly over the last couple of decades. More people are turning to lower league football now, because the cost of so called big time football is out of most peoples budgets, that could attract a larger crowd to 'Fleet'.

You are correct about the Essex fans (Grays). When we played Grays we had a few of their fans standing close to us halfway liners. They must have been dotted around the ground. Visiting supporters don't all stand at the Swanscombe end of the ground you know. I do believe in non segregation at our level of football. Good natured banter is always acceptable. It's just that when the drinks in,the wits out. or should I say only half.
