Council meeting today?

Recommended Posts

As this is a delicate subject, there should be no speculation on the issues involved; however we need to be positive yet also remaining cautious, to ensure that no one is offended; yet ensuring there is suitable pressure on those involved to promote a forward momentum but not running before we can walk. The powers that be will comunicate in their own good time, but remembering that there needs to be an open flow of information to all involved, however not broadcasting it to those who are not directly involved.

So two weeks.

So would I be. Despite what the papers say, I do not think that today's meeting (I understand it was this afternoon) can decide anything binding.

The next Cabinet meeting is scheduled for January 21st, though there is no guarantee that things will even be discussed then. Cabinet meetings tend to be held monthlyish, so after that its February, March.....

With elections to be held on May 1st, I'd guess that if it isn't decided by March, then forget it until the summer.

And it may be, but councils move at their own speed, write resorts, consider reports, seek further information and clarification etc., consider options, discuss options and so on so there are lots of things that could slow it down. That said, lets hope it is January, and a favourable outcome.

We have first refusal.

At the moment I don't think we do. As far as I know the site is not officially for sale but if it was put on the market tomorrow there's nothing to stop somebody else bidding for it. My understanding is that we are trying to broker a situation that precludes it being sold to other parties for a set period. There's no guarantee however that this will be granted.
