I SO prefer not knowing who we are going to play until the last moment. Why would any one want to plan ahead?

Is there any reason why the league can't provide the full league fixtures for the rest of the season ??

Which team do they support ?

I think that this is the time to be 100% transparent and provide the list of all the games between now and the rest of the season, the rain and the postpone matches are not a good enough excuse not to provide the full fixture.

Phil Rolt is SSML fixtures secretary however we have been here many times before on this Forum as he doesn't feel a need to produce more than one months fixtures in advance, I can't see why you are making such a song and dance about it and it has nothing to do with transparency. Which SSML team do you follow anyway out of interest.

Publishing a full season's Premier Division fixtures as a minimum is a MUST. If I were contesting an election against Rhodes, that would be my main platform. It is Micky Mouse to publish them monthly.

p.s. Got to go now, and mark out the pitch for the TABLE TOPPING Hertford Town Reserves, who play Tring Athletic Reserves game tomorrow.

Firstly unless you are Secretary of Royston Town you will not be allowed to approach Phil Rolt in any way shape or form, it will have to be done through your Secretary Mr Chappell.

Secondly the address of Hanwell Town is:

Reynolds Field

Perivale Lane

Greenford

Middx

UB6 8TL

however won't you be at Garden Walk for the game with Harpenden Town

Let's just explore one avenue here....Some clubs have their own clubhouses. They are not just there to provide refreshment on match days. They are a major source of vital income to clubs. If fixtures are only known one month in advance then bookings for said clubhouse on any Saturday or midweek day/evening are nigh on impossible to take. Weddings, parties, business meetings etc could be booked if a season's fixtures are known in advance.

If one were to take this to a logical conclusion it is not beyond the imagination that in the future a club could consider suing a league for restriction of trade and demand a transfer from that league from The FA if that league refuses to announce fixtures better than one month in advance.

There is an argument that it could be a cut and shut case of a league not doing the right things to benefit their clubs. Winters midweek derby days are seemingly another clear example of a league totally disinterested in their members welfare and ability to turn a much needed penny.

If you had any commercial nouse at all you would recognise all this and change your tune. Or is the tall Kentish gentleman not for turning?

I recognise that administrative difficulties would be encountered, but plenty of leagues manage to announce fixtures a season in advance.

Uncle Urchin - You know I always respect your viewpoint but non league football isn't all about money, why doesn't Wader go and help out Chelsea and Man United if that's all he's worried about

I didn't say it was all about money rhodsey I just said that to publsh fixtures monthly is MM.... which it is.....

wader does have a serious point about the financial implications tho'...if a club can raise more money with functions in its clubhouse and knowing the fixture list for the season enables them to do that...well then the bills get paid on time and makes the club less reliant on paymasters.....that cannot be wrong can it...?
