The Pitch

It seems ages since last saturday-football starved this week-so in the abscence of anything better to debate ,(hope there is some sort of MFC news in tomorrows paper to gossip about)i thought i'd raise the most exciting subject of the pitch-which to me seems to be holding up well this season.

I don't think its rained much when there has actually been a game on which makes a massive positive difference.

Dry weather for this weekends games forecast, and not too many more games in this month for any of the sides.

Just February to get through ,then in March you get dry windy weather and grass generally grows ,so good chance that whilst it will be far from perfect, the pitch will hold up well for remainder of the season, and we will not have copious amounts of sand on it like last year.

(was it January 2007 previous season when we had alot of rain pitch really took a bashing)

Well done Ray again.

Also means i guess, that it will be easier for him in the summer to get the pitch spot on for start of next season, after a difficult summer this year;and next year pitch could be contender for best in league again.

(subtext of this posting is that i am thinking of next season already as imo we just don't have enough games left to recover the lost ground to make the play-offs-always predicted 8th anyway.

This is the part of the season where i wish we were still in the league cup to give an extra midweek fixture to talk about-one game a week is much to few and how will we survive wih no game for 2 weeks after saturday )

In local Extra it says Trotty will be probably out with a groin strain and Martin with a lacerated foot. Something to discuss for you Michael.

I'll leave others to discuss the delicacies of our managers groin.

(thank goodness its not Haworths or someone would be in raptures )

One does hope that we have signed Godfellow though and he is fit ,so can take RT's place in central defence

Left footed Central defender so, that makes by my reckoning 6 players who can play in central defence.

wet weekend down here in the west.

Did it rain on saturday in Kent-or today for U18 game.

If dry on day of game itself, the pitch should be better than last season-hows it looking.

(i just can't wait for someone to reply green and brown in places )
