John Akinde...

I don't think so. It's just that John Akinde has a lot of potential as a striker and could be proved to be a valuable asset to the club monetary wise, as I'm sure he will progress further up the league ladder as did Liam Hatch.

Really pleased that Liam can now hopefully offer longer term contracts to other players without the fear of losing good committed players to other clubs.

excited

Well done to John. Whilst on loan here I could see potential in him. Unfortunately he wasn't used enough here to get the benefits of his talent. In his short spells on the pitch it was noticeable i.m.o. that he would make it in the game & would go onto better things. I'm sure he will go a long way in football.I am following his progress with interest.

Big John, Big John, Big John... Big John, Big John, Big John, Big John...

Great news. I think it also shows, as Chopper said, that Daish isn't looking to tear apart the current squad with his new funds, and will only use the money to make subtle improvements whilst relying on the players he still has here. I can see Lance, Sacha, McCarthy, Hawkins on a good day, Ricketts, the four who played in midfield yesterday, George Purcell, Moore and Akinde at least, playing some part in an Ebbsfleet team winning the league or the playoffs, so to have a strong nucleus signed up ASAP would be excellent preparation for the next two seasons.

Agree completely. If we trust the talent evaluators, i.e. Liam, then we should be locking up players. Plus, as some other people have mentioned, this gives the club some flexibility in the transfer market as well, both as a buyer (our needs are less) and as a seller (we have valuable players other clubs want).

Shirley that should be:

ex: something that was
pert: boldly forward in speech or behavior; impertinent; saucy.

So a 'soccer expert' would be someone who used to be impertinent about football.....or in this case maybe we could drop the ex.

can anyne clarify this.,....an 18 month deal sounds much more likely

How specific does it have to be? EUFC site says end of season 08/09, and BBC says end of next season (which is 08/09)...
How likely is it that the club and the Fleet's own site got it wrong and teletext are correct? crazy
