Tough month coming up but I suggest that the Fleet should be on 44 points by Australia Day (26th January):

1/1 H v Grays Draw Won 4 of last 6 including last start win v League leaders Aldershot;

5/1 H v Weymouth Win by 3 Lost 4 and a draw in last 5 games;

19/1 a v Histon Draw Lost last 3 but only by a goal to Cambridge and Exeter in last two;

26/1 H v Burton Albion Win by 1 New Aussie fans a great incentive beer

Happy New Year

How often does a team come out of the pack with a late run ?

I have only been involved with a run like that once back at Leicester when we were chasing Fulham to get a place in the Old Division 1. After a while, you assume that if you are going to win, then hard games against the teams above become chances to make ground on teams. We may not start well in games, but we have been strong in the last 20 minutes of games. Could our season be the same ?

my bet is they won't

This is also my worry. With both the MyFC members and the current EUFC shareholders having to hold votes, I'm skeptical that the deal will be done in time to accomplish anything in the transfer window.

Maybe that's only a short-term problem, but it may also have longer-term implications. For the core of MyFC members (roughly 25,000+ now), the anniversary date for their renewals is tied to the date of takeover, not the date they joined.

I was hoping that anniversary would fall in December so that in future years we'd know what our renewal cashflow would look like before the transfer window opened.

For members joining after the purchase is complete, this isn't an issue since they'll renew on the anniversary of their sign-up date. But the initial members will all be renewing at the same time. That's a financial planning number that would sure be nice to have nailed down before transfer negotiating time.

I guess it can't be helped, but it's a disappointment to me. But who knows? Perhaps there's money available from the EA Sports sponsorship? But I don't see how it could be spent before the deal is signed.

Norwich did it the year they got through to the Play-Off final against Birmingham. Excellent run in the last month of the season and scaped in via goal difference of one to pip Burnley for the last play-off spot on the last day of the season. OK so we lost to the Brummies but would never have expected to be in Cardiff only a month beforehand.
