While I haven't seen a bank statement to prove it, that money is supposed to stay with the MyFC Society, for use in helping the club. I have to assume that's the case until I see something that proves otherwise.

What usually happens with a mutual society is that a separate 'client' account is set up so that the money subscribed and that accrued in interest goes to the society. The admin costs of MyFC are met from the £7.50 deducted from each £35 subscribed.

Seeing as this has come up as a topic for discussion again (not surprising) I will give my tuppence worth.

My understanding (and I may be wrong) is that the coach (speaking in generic terms here) will not suggest a team line-up. My understanding is that there will not be an option for the coach's choice. My understanding is that the coach will give a series of reports on the previous match, training, the upcoming opposition and on individual players. The members of MyFC will pick the team based on this information and the experience of previous games, reports, discussion etc. To have a 'coach's team' or an option to select 'coach's choice' defeats the purpose of 'pick the team'.

The club will have a limited squad so the number of options will be limited. I wouldn't expect anyone not to choose Lance Cronin as the goalie for example. In effect 9 out of the 11 will probably pick themselves and as LD has said the other two are probably a matter of luck if the right choice has been made. I would expect over time that the team will develop a settled look. I will operate from the standpoint expressed by an old Irish team manager Johnny Giles (ex-Leeds player and WBA manager) who consistantly says 'pick the best players in their best positions and let them get on with it'.

Is this how it will work? - from my reading of it - yes (but I could be wrong).
Will it work? - I don't know - but it would be great if it did.
Do I agree with it? - no - but this is what MyFC chose as the method of operation. As a member of MyFC I will fully participate in the process.

The vote will take place on the day before the game and the team will be communicated to the coach at that time. The team will be released as normal on game day.

And I would expect people to be apprehensive about this - as am I. But wouldn't it be great if it did work.

Reading the above Essay, we (club)can save a lot of money then can we not???? The question must be do we need a Head coach then?? as if the above goes through, he has no job as such left surely, I am positive a office girl can type out a team sheet!!!!
Does not take a head coach does it ?

This MyFC team selection thing is probably the most talked about topic since the proposed take over. There are, however, loop holes. Most people would, I imagine, select what is classed as the strongest team, with maybe one or two variations. That doesn't mean Liam has to choose that team. He could doctor his reports on the previous game, training and the next game, unlikely, but possible. Also, the names given to the ref on match days don't have to be the same as chosen on MyFC. Liam will always have the final say.

What?

Daish can change it yes,but not without decent reasons..ie injury or player getting sick or somethings like that.

People need to realise once and for all that MyFC will indeed pick the starting XI.It is no way around it whatsoever since picking the team is absolutely central idea when it comes to MyFC and getting people to become members.

Like many has stated,it will have little impact indeed in who gets into the starting XI,but MyFC will have the final say in this..not Daish.

Daish is positive about MyFC involvement. He is a decent bloke who, in the past, has never demonstrated any tendency to subvert the task he was involved in. I have confidence he will not do it in this situation either.

Whats the point of the head coach coaching,if he has no idea what teams playing? so has no idea what tactics he can play, the training can be done by any coach does not need to be a head coach. maybe the office girl can do the trainers job as well ?

"All MyFC members I've spoken to have said they are going to leave it to Liam Daish to select the teams and choose who he wants in transfers, and not vote. All who I spoken to are pleadge their £35 and leaving it to Liam to do his job. So, overall, I'm beginning to like, more than dislike, the idea"

Won't that just mean that the power to select the team is left in the hands of a core of nutters?

So basically, the sheeple handed over £35, and did not realise what they were getting? Now, some people might think that was a little bit foolish........

The majority of people joined because they wanted to have a degree of control over a football team in order to improve it. Most people just wanted to play a part in trying to 'give something back to football', and to a small club who seem to have been forgotten amidst Premiership Plus and lunchtime kick-offs. I still think they'll get that.

Well,I can guarantee that alot of members will use their vote when it comes to picking the team.

All in all,I think the possibility to do that might be the single biggest draw MyFC has when recruiting members.

It is also really stupid to think that this will have a great impact as to who is picked.Ebbsfleet squad isn´t exactly full of alternatives,I´m sorry to say.

Nade will have trouble regaining his place though, and afterall that is just how it should be.
