Maybe on activation an actual match ticket is posted to the micro season ticket holder (though it would need to be done a few days before match day)

1. I don't think the club is in any danger of over selling tickets currently and 2. they're not physically able to except in the centre/wing stand, where seating tolerances would exceed demand substantially I'm sure. As far as I see it, such an activation system is entirely unnecessary and the requirement of an online system and postage is needlessly hasslesome. If such a micro season ticket system is to be implemented, best to make it just a set of free entry tickets.

On the flex packs in the States, if they are not used by the end of the season, they become invalid. So it wouldn't matter if a team is promoted, relegated, or remains in the same league, a new pack would have to be bought for the new season. Also, all I have ever seen or heard of is a physical book of tickets that can be exchanged at the ticket booth or through the club for a specific game.

AFL Clubs (Aussie Rules..top level) have a deal where amember of a club gets a discounted ticket price when attending an away game for their team and vice versa.

Saw recent article on tickets being sold to games that are downloaded on to your mobile phone...a bar code appears...and is swiped at the gate.

Man Utd., Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal; in no particular order, are coming to town, or County, as the case may be. How the hell does the club decide who gets what seat & where when it comes to big demand games that most, if not all, 'micros' want to come out of the woodwork for??

I.E. Seems like a great idea short-term, but if the dream is delivered (promotion{s}), it is a p**s poor idea.

Not sure about 'away' season tickets either, but seem like a more viable long-term option to work on - other clubs permitting of course.

If Man Utd come to town there might be a problem but for all other games you can sit, or stand, anywhere you like.

Hirsty, I agree with you, we have to walk first, but these ideas are in people minds and might be useful at the appropriate time. For now, I think priority has to be people through the turnstyles, home for revenue, away for support.

I know some overseas were talking about buying tickets that they knew they couldnt use, and then let them be used by school kids locally.

Stafford was nice in a basic, friendly way. I would have bought a couple of Ebbsfleet shirts if someone had brought some along.

Folks like me will help Ebbsfleet feel supported when away from home. We were over a sixth of the total attendance yesterday. I'd like to think our support helped.

I don't disagree with you at all. Even though away supporters' tickets don't go to the Fleet, I think it's important for them to remain involved.

Kids aren't going to naturally wander down to a football game for a number of reasons. But if you have a website, a weblog, and txt a couple free ticket, you'll stand a better chance. Surely MyFC will be able to help with this.

Off to find Radio Kent online now for the game.

My understanding (and I may be wrong) is that the coach (speaking in generic terms here) will not suggest a team line-up. My understanding is that there will not be an option for the coach's choice. My understanding is that the coach will give a series of reports on the previous match, training, the upcoming opposition and on individual players. The members of MyFC will pick the team based on this information and the experience of previous games, reports, discussion etc. To have a 'coach's team' or an option to select 'coach's choice' defeats the purpose of 'pick the team'.

The club will have a limited squad so the number of options will be limited. I wouldn't expect anyone not to choose Lance Cronin as the goalie for example. In effect 9 out of the 11 will probably pick themselves and as LD has said the other two are probably a matter of luck if the right choice has been made. I would expect over time that the team will develop a settled look. I will operate from the standpoint expressed by an old Irish team manager Johnny Giles (ex-Leeds player and WBA manager) who consistantly says 'pick the best players in their best positions and let them get on with it'.

Is this how it will work? - from my reading of it - yes (but I could be wrong).
Will it work? - I don't know - but it would be great if it did.
Do I agree with it? - no - but this is what MyFC chose as the method of operation. As a member of MyFC I will fully participate in the process.

The vote will take place on the day before the game and the team will be communicated to the coach at that time. The team will be released as normal on game day.

And I would expect people to be apprehensive about this - as am I. But wouldn't it be great if it did work.

I replied to this here - think it more in keeping with original thread!!

Dom - you have got to be a bit upset with there being no 'managers choice' option. It was one of your points that it would be foolish to allow members to pick a team when the vast majority of them would never have seen them play. Who decided that this wasn't going to be an option? Do the MyFC members not have to vote on this kinda decision?

Also, the timescale of the vote needs to be looked at. Surely the voting will have to be open for a minimum of 24 hours - to allow for the world time zones that MyFC fans live in? There is the time needed to inform the club of the outome - then advising the players who is required for the game! And has any thought been given to how you deal with midweek games?

PatMan, I may be mistaken, but I don't believe MyFC will be voting immediately after the deal's signed. I read somewhere that there will be a transition period, allowing the site to start providing whatever video feeds we'll have before we start voting. I don't think the intention is for anyone to vote who hasn't got a series of video and written reports to go on. But I've been wrong before. We'll know soon enough.

As for mid-week games, the same voting system will be in place. Each vote will be backed up by however many hours/days before kickoff time.

Will these be live feeds of the game plus coverage from training sessions?

I really think mid-weeks will be difficult due to time constraints after Saturday - but as has been stated, its just a matter of wait and see till this is all made-up announced! grin

There won't be any live feeds of games at 3.00.p.m. on Saturday afternoons as Rule 48 of the F.A.'s 'code' (whatever that is) apparently prevents that...even at Conference level.

This is why that F.C. United match had to be moved to 12.45.a.m. over Xmas (for Unibond TV).

A delayed internet coverage of the whole game is a possibility though, and I believe this is being looked into.

No problem for Home matches, but it is for Away games.

Home club cameramen will want paying a fair bit of dosh for them to allow MyFC to stream the whole of their footage on the 'net.

PatMan, I'm not ducking your questions. I simply don't know the answers and The Cameraman will know much more about it than I do. It's another of those things that the members have to wait (im)patiently to learn.

There has been talk of both game and practice session films, but what actually comes about isn't available yet.

Robert, wasn't my intention to accuse you of ducking the question - I just thought you might have had some idea of the timescales involved!

It seems that until DD is FINALLY completed, everything else has to be put on hold (sensible really). Hopefully after that, everyone will have an idea of the 'what' & 'when' things can happen...
