This MyFC thing

PatMan

Recommended Posts

Seems to have gone very quiet here...

At one stage, this board was constantly patrolled by various MyFC forum admin - doheochai, friejose and rsheard were always here making sure that no-one dared to attack the MyFC ethos without being quoted to shreds... And now, nothing. No mention of how the team are doing, the attendances, the promised funds etc.

Strange isn't it - especially since they all turned up one at a time - and all disappeared together... Far be it for me to suggest a conspiracy theory, but....

And before ye all accuse me not wanting to see Fleet move forward - my reservations are more to do with the fact the the club will soon be controlled by a web-site/forum who still HAVE NO REAL IDEA how this will actually work! Thats my big problem, its an experiment, and Fleet are nothing more than a specimen. For a vast majority of MyFC members, if this all goes horribly wrong their attitude will be "Oh well, twas only £35".

Xmas, New Year and the promise of news re Due Diligence in early January probably sees them having a spell or biding their time.

Apparently a reasonable Myfc roll up at Stafford.

I'll check the Conspiracy thread on the Myfc Forum and get back to you. smile

Surely not Mick - they turned up to support Fleet - not MyFC, that makes them 'Fleet fans', not 'MyFC'? The sooner there is no difference between the 2 the better!!

Or maybe there's only so long you can keep having the same old debate. It'll all start up again when the voting kicks in I'm sure.

Couldn't agree more regarding the 'no difference' Patman.

At the same time the Myfc members who attended Stafford are showing their commitment to the concept as a whole.

A touch of paranoia in your original post.

I've noticed that a lot of the Forumites have taken a softer line on the Myfc deal.

What do you expect to get out of this sort of thread?

The whole thing will go away?

You haven't gotten rid of me, I'm just lurking and reading. As Stu says, there's a bit of "we'll have to agree to disagree" for now.

DD is on the verge of being completed, the best I can tell. I think there should be some news in the next 10 days or so. The holidays delayed things a bit, but we're close.

I'm still here every day, reading and trying to learn. And I couldn't agree with you more that the sooner no one sees a difference between Fleet fans and MyFC members, the better.

Don't know, not my decision to make. Based on MyFC's good track record regarding transparency (for example, all of their corporate documents are posted in full on the members' website as PDF's), I would guess that a lot of information will be made available. How much exactly and in what form, I don't know.

Paranoia where? Its called trolling these days - throwing up a deliberately controversial thread so that other people bite on it! The initial few days on here aside - the banter between MyFC members and the original posters has been great, with the pro's and con's of the deal being discussed and argued over, with both sides having to conceed points!

And no, I don't want it to go away - the point of the thread was to make sure it was still top of the agenda!
I like the fact that the MyFC moderators come here, get given a hard time, get asked all sorts of questions - and still keep coming back for more! That kind of commitment, if transferred into bodies thru turnstiles is whats needed!

Until the same number turn up at Stonebridge Road, the Fleet are the poor relations of such benevolence!

You are right AFF, Stafford get to trouser an extra 50 lots of £12:00 and all we get is 27,000 lots of £27:50.

Poor relations or what?

I am a Gills fan (sorry) and a member of MyFc and have really enjoyed supporting and being entertained by Ebbsfleet for the last few months.. As I live in the north its not easy to get to matches but I will be at York and whilst I would have prefered a club closer to home I do have a soft spot for the fleet as I used to work in Gravesend many years ago

I can understand your reservations but you should maybe remember that it was Ebbsfleet who approached MyFC together with a number of other clubs.

And the MyFC members are all football fans who only have the best interests of the club at heart.

The Fleet is now the most talked about non league club and whilst I think automatic promotion may be a bit much this season promotion by the play offs is achievable.
