Mid table at best

I know it is only mid season, and it looks as if we will be fielding a stronger squad very shortly, and I think that the squad is more than capable of gaining promotion, but the season is over for us now. I don't think that any supporter can now believe that we can get near the playoffs this season. AFC Hornchurch have 3 matches in hand, AFC Dons 5 Staines 6 and Horsham 7. Chelmsford are 17 points ahead and Hendon 15. Sorry but I really hope I am proved wrong but we are asking the impossible from RT now.

Three wins on the trott & we will be back up there with the rest Steve.A few defeats for those with games in hand will help too.Its not a forlorn hope just yet.Hang on in there. Still a long way to go yet!

A much changed & improved "GATE" team is about to re-emerge!!

Cookie, can you honestly see us winning three on the trott? I think we'll be lucky to beat Ashford on Saturday, and oh, lets look, their 1 point behind us with 2 games in hand, can't afford to lose Saturday! smile

Every game is a must win game Jake. Ashford has to be the 1st of those three(or more). Ashford have quietly got themselves up of the bottom & must surely be the "form" team at the moment.
There are so many twists & turns to come in this league yet. So many surprise results, that to give up now would be ridiculous.
With the bigger players slowly coming back into the team,YES I can absolutely see us winning 3 on the bounce.

As for those teams with games in hand. Should they win them & drag us down the table take comfort that they will also drag T.O.T.S down that table with us,even if the T.O.T.S kept on winning & theres no guaranteed they will. But thats another matter altogether.

I felt todays performance was good but we failed to convert chances into goals and I think if we do the same Saturday it'll cost us.

Lets just see what happens though I guess, spose you never know whats gonna happen next.

The New Year wish list:

Robin Trott to remain, but off the pitch with a good replacement (Goodfellow?), so he can concentrate on his managerial role. No more injuries and all 'returners' back to form - Charlie Side, in particular, because we haven't seen enough of him and Rob together. Margate and Ramsgate in the play offs. Definitely no ridiculous disciplinary issues (please, DS!). I could go on.....but three points on Saturday against Ashford will do - why is it every team we come up against is in a rich vein of form?!

We finally seem to have the nucleus of a decent squad and it is not impossible for us to make the play offs. The top two are miles ahead and it would take a spectacular capitulation for either to miss out on a top 5 finish but the remaining 3 places are defo still up for grabs. We have played more games than most and have been "consistently inconsistent" this season but with experienced players coming back and hopefully a more settled side there's no reason we cannot put a winning streak together to keep us in the frame. Whatever does happen I just pray we finish above TOTS - somehow I think many will judge RT simply on that issue come the end of the season.

I would love to be wrong, but i can't see the top 5 being beyond the 6 of Chelmsford,Wimbledon,Staines,Horsham,Ramsgate and Hendon.

I am afraid we have left too much to do.

I just trust we are now really building for next season, and not signing players for 4 months who will then leave in the summer

Agree with you 6 very strong teams. But they will all take points off each other. And that might let someone else slip into a play off place. Hornchurch of course could be added to your list.
I reckon Margate might still be in with a shout. And who knows even Billericay could be up there by the end of the season.
