its a funny old game....

we were second best for most of this game which turned out to be the physical encounter many expected....an early mark janney penalty when des boeteng was brought down by the keeper (who was lucky to stay on the pitch courtesy of the same hapless fool that denied us 3 penalties against wealdstone)and we ably kept swifts at bay thereafter although they had most of the possession...

 

strangely enough they never looked like scoring and in fact it was the urchins who had the clear cut chances in the game and hit the woodwork twice..dale was almost a bystander for most of the 95 minutes played...

 

not the best urchin performance this term it has to be said but a gritty and invaluable three points nonetheless as the lads worked their socks off under colins gentle touchline encouragement..

onwards to the harlow game and well done colin and the boyseys....

we were resolute today.....not pretty to be honest but 3 points well deserved upon further reflection...

A very valuable three points which we had to scrap for against a well organised Heybridge team.

I want to say well done to Dale for some great work in keeping a clean sheet. He made some important saves when we were under the cosh.

The solid defence mentioned several times above is reason enough but remembering our match at Heybridge at the start of the season and the way we were all over them, I think justice was done. Don't you?
