BBC Essex reporter reckoned it was Kerrigan O.G.

Did we have a shot in this game? I'm struggling to recall one.

Still, I'm not too disappointed with the result, based on how our respective seasons have gone. Would have been nice to put a dent in the neighbour's title ambitions though.

I certainly don't believe that we played to our full potential yesterday. I believe that the lads have a lot more to give then what was on show yesterday. Given the team that Chelmsford was forced to put out, yesterday was our opportunity to go for the jugular and record our first away league victory at Melbourne Park. As in the earlier home game this season, we looked like we were giving them far too much respect and after watching this team over the past 6 games, sorry, we do better when we go for it. For example, away to Tonbridge Angels, home to Ramsgate, 2nd half at home to Harlow and 2nd half away to Hastings. I know some of those games people can say we didn't win some of them and left ourselves exposed but they are examples where the team played to a higher mark than yeterday, IMO. We have the players, so lets have a bit of belief that we are better than that.

As it was, I thought yesterday was one of the most boring encounters that both teams had between them.

I have to agree i am glad to walkaway with a 1 nil against what are supposed to be the best team in this and the two leagues above us. (According to the soap box)

It was a shame that it turned out to be an own goal that hurt a bit but then at least they did not get the credit for scoring against us lol.

Our two best players were well marked by a second best Scum selection. & the ref seemed to give them every call,

I noticed the white socks and pony tail chavs were out in force behind the scum goal they even gave me a wave (Tarts)

What a dull place to have to watch a football game, The scum fans don't sing or cheer their team on, Shocking supporters imo.

And what was that Robin Redbreast doing running up and down the pitch?

Onwards and upwards lads.... WE ARE THE PROUD BLUE ARMY

Come ON BB - your comments above and on the other threads are a bit below what I expect of you. You sound as though you took my earlier advice and lumped your mortgage on a Ricay victory.

Still half the season to go, and you don't have to visit the "dull place" and witness the "scum" any more this season (unless it's in the play-offs of course).

And you were the first team to prevent our strike force from scoring at home this season.

I agree with Gazza on this one, I thought we were very disppointing yesterday.

If we had lost through being out-skilled and and out-classed then fair dos, but to my mind we lost because we were out-run out-worked and out-fought.

It seemed like damage limitation to me, mind you it looks like most of the other posters were happy about that, personally I'd rather of got done 4 and showed a bit of fighting spirit.

BWG struggled against the 3, so why didnt we swap him over to get him against Palmer who isn't a full-back or stick him down the middle to have a run against Ward - for that matter how have we arrived at a situation whereby we have nil forwards on the bench - Against a team like Chelmsford you need more finesse than just sticking Shave up top for the last ten. We need to stop worrying about who to play at left back and start worrying about getting in a decent midfielder in to partner Dorms because until we do we are going nowhere.

On a brighter note, I thought the back four did pretty well together, another excellent clearance from Macca and the young lad from Dagenham again did well. And at least the bus didn't leave me behind afterwards!!!

Hopefully we can get back to winning ways next week.

Come on you blues!!

A disappointing performance and a disappointing game - we could still be playing now and still not have scored. I agree with the comments above, BWG was well marshalled throughout but could he have swapped flanks to see if there was any joy down the left? We need another option up front with Flack out and Boot gone.

Another below par show from Ricky, I thought we only got going in the last ten minutes or so, keeping possesion accurate passing building-up to cross in to the box, too late by then. last season there was much more of this type play and it showed in our league position. Saying that we did hold our own against a side who were also not performing although some of Chemlo's passing and build up play was good to watch.

Dormer played well again a mainstay of the team and Hodgy started things moving when he came on.

I think even chelmo fans would agree it was quite a dull derby. Not much in the way of clear cut chances but on the balance would say they looked the most likely to score. Oh well, at least we did well as most other teams come away from MP with 5 goals against 'em.

Now for the fun part...cannot work out which end was colder !
