Hi Gazza, my first posting on here. Always lurking but never felt the need to post before until I saw the above comment.

Why did you feel the need to 'boycott' City's bar today? If City's supporters did the same when we visited your place, your club would lose a lot of revenue, yes? Not looking for an argument, just trying to see the sense in it, particularly when it comes from someone who has, as far as I can tell, a semi-official role at BTFC.
A typically tense, nervous affair today. I thought you lot ran us close in terms of possession but without any end-product. Ater the first fifteen minutes I had bad vibes as you were running the show but after that, we showed just why we are so hard to beat at MP, even when we have half a team out through the 'flu, so I'm led to believe.

For the sake of tit for tat, Gary...I was just quoting you

Methinks you're being deliberately obtuse in not noting the difference between what I actually said and what you're saying I said, Gazza. Never mind - just a shame you can't be bothered to devote the same amount of time to defending your position of not drinking in our bar. Like I said, lazy journalism.

Happy New Year to all at BTFC. cuddle

Gary, I have looked at your responses and personally, you obviously have more time on your hands than I do. And these things obviously mean more to you then they do to me. As for being obtuse, why respond? Did you read my response with your quote and go "ooooppppss" and try and gain some higher ground?

Or was that for sake of tit for tat?

Having been a "avid" reader of the Slop Box and had some insight in the personality of a typical Chelmo contributor, I await your response. For me, last Saturday has gone but I shant deny you a bone on which to nibble on...

A Heppy New Year to you to

hello witham claret, and a happy new year to you, did you ever see the advert on tv where the skin head is running towards this elderly lady from one angle it looks like he's going to knock her over and mug her and then from a different angle we see he was knocking her out of the way to save her from something falling! i was right there on the right side of the fence and i must say your view seems slighty different to mine and as for being a chav you cheered me up, for someone who was a t-rex and david bowie fan i don't think so, like you i love my football and i did have a few jars in the club house. one thing i would say is we certainly out- sang you and that was our aim! not trouble.

No, the higher ground - and then some - had already been reached by your failure to provide reasons for refusing to drink in our bar, Gazza. Still, I can understand why you won't publicly state your reasons; you wouldn't wish to come across as petty, would you? smile

Explain Gary, please do as to the higher ground and then some? I have my reasons and they are personal. If I coose to divulge, that is my decision and not yours. You may ask and I have answered that I am keeping them to myself.

Why should I answer to you? In my world, you carry no authority. If you cannot accept that I wish to keep my reasons to myself then, that is, your problem. It appears that this problem is shared by many that contribute on the Slop Box, where the personal lives and points of view of many that do not agree with the majority are either there to bullied out or to be ridiculed. Accept that I do not wish to duvulge and move on.

There Gary...another bone for you to nibble...I await...blah, blah, blah!!!

Gazza, of course you don't answer to me and my word carries no authority. But as this is a public forum, I reserve the right to question comments made on it. And when those comments are of a derogatory nature aimed at the club I support, then rest assured I will ask for justification for those comments being made.

However, as you've made it perfectly clear that you're not prepared to put any meat on the bones (nibble, nibble) of your comments, we'll have to leave it at that, I guess. It's just unfortunate that you can't see that your reluctance to argue your case makes you look a little foolish, which is a shame, as you never struck me as the foolish type.

I look forward to the next occasion that City play at New Lodge, where I will take great pleasure in buying a few pints and supporting BTFC (in a financial sense, at least), the way it should be in non-league football.

There is no arguement to make except the one you wish to bang on about. I did not wish to patronise your clubhouse with myself as is my right in a free world. End of arguement.

Freedom. Is this a concept you cannot accept? We have freedom of speech, which you have excersised on this froum and also freedom to do as we wish and keep reasons private, which I have done. Perhaps you would be better employed by the present government.

Anyway, that's my "Braveheart" (cue Balmoral) bit done, I believe people have had enough of this. Have a happy new year Gary, best of luck for the rest of the season.

I don't believe anyone is questioning your god-given right to vote with your feet, Gazza. I feel the responder was more interested in learning of your motives for so doing....

Perhaps the responder feels that you were motivated in the main by a desire not to put money the way of an organisation you abhor. Although I'm sure that someone of your stature could never be so petty....
