Hi Gazza, my first posting on here. Always lurking but never felt the need to post before until I saw the above comment.

Why did you feel the need to 'boycott' City's bar today? If City's supporters did the same when we visited your place, your club would lose a lot of revenue, yes? Not looking for an argument, just trying to see the sense in it, particularly when it comes from someone who has, as far as I can tell, a semi-official role at BTFC.

A typically tense, nervous affair today. I thought you lot ran us close in terms of possession but without any end-product. Ater the first fifteen minutes I had bad vibes as you were running the show but after that, we showed just why we are so hard to beat at MP, even when we have half a team out through the 'flu, so I'm led to believe.

Because it was my choice, Gary. As it is for those people whom do or don't partake in the delights of our bar.

Actually, I saw a few "semi officials" (as you call them), not partaking in the delights of your bar, so I wasn't the only one.

Seeing that you find it so important to point out the fact that I did not wish to drink in your club house, could you explain to me why, on your last visit to New Lodge, your supporters felt it nessecary to vandalise our ground and rip the P A speaker off it's mountings. I find this act of vandalism a little more worthy of an answer than one mans boycott of your bar.

On the game, I thought the game boring. One of the most boring encounters between our two teams by a long chalk.

I accept that it's your choice, Gazza, doesn't explain why you chose to do it (or not to do it, as the case may be) though, does it?

I can't recall an official from City publicly stating that they wouldn't drink in BTFC's bar, though.

Semi-officials/officials. Toe-may-toe/too-mar-toe. But you're the only one - as far as I know - who has publicly stated it, Gazza.

Seeing that you find it so important to point out the fact that I did not wish to drink in your club house

Funny that, I thought YOU'D pointed it out. smile

I'm struggling to find the connection here but if you're saying that it happened - and I see no reason to doubt you - then there was, of course, absolutely no justification for it. Or about the same justification as there was for you boycotting our bar yesterday, anyway.

I find this act of vandalism a little more worthy of an answer than one mans boycott of your bar.

I see them as totally separate and both worthy of equal consideration.

Well, I won't disagree with you there...

I still find it strange that an official of a rival club would publicly state on their messageboard that they would be boycotting the bar. Would have been nice to have been told why, that's all. Still, like you say, it's your prerogative.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

What I actually said was that I would rather give money to the local tramp...

...but thank you for your concern Gary. My reasons? Well, I could go into a long tirade of my reasons (which I feel are quite valid) but then I'm thinking, why bother. If it is that important to you to know, you can PM me but my opinions on this will remain private.

You're right, that is what you said. It would have been so much LESS becoming of a BTFC official to have used the word "boycott", eh? crazy

If it were me, and I thought my reasons were "quite valid", then I would be thinking, bother.

If it is that important to you to know, you can PM me but my opinions on this will remain private.

Shame you couldn't keep your opinion that you'd rather give your money to a tramp private as well. Smacks of "lazy journalism" to me that you're not prepared to publicly justify a remark that you, er, made in public.

children, children, put your toys away.

TC, just looking for justification from Gazza, that's all. My toys are well and truly in the pram, except the one that's marked "didn't get promotion", which will be hurled a vast distance in May if it happens.

As I was one of the last out of the venue, and a very nice venue to, I hope I made up for the non participants of some of our, erm "semi officials"??

Glad you like the clubhouse, TC. By the way, the term I used was "particularly when it comes from someone who has, as far as I can tell, a semi-official role at BTFC." Gazza used the term you refer to, not me. smile

One last thing. We've got a supply of rubber bricks available to purchase in our club shop if any BTFC fans are interested. Guaranteed not to cause any damage to anything they're thrown at. They're a best-seller. cheerleader
