My team for Saturday

having heard on interviews that both Dean and McKimm should be fit; my team for saturday would be as follows:

SCS

Peters Saunders Trott Joseph

Martin Mckimm Morris Standen

Pinnock haworth

Dean narrowly gets in the team as opposed to being banished to Siberian coalmines.

Make use of him before a 5-9 match ban !!

WE need to win midfield for once-can't do it with two only, so play narrower with just Martin on the wing,Macca,Morris and Dean in midfield where Dean can play wider on the left-or even play Dean deeper in front of the back four to give additional protection.

I always feel that RT system of two wide players in midfield is a luxury you can't afford-especially away from home,it puts pressure on defence and invariably ,our two central midfield players lose out to a 4 man midfield(as per Ramsgate).

two wide midfield players is an attractive proposition on paper, but so few goals/chances are in practice created this way,its a waste, and wide players just are not involved in the game so much-percentage game is that most play is down the centre-so play the percentage game and win it.

Guess we are assuming that Dan Young is out.

You never know, but looked quite a seriolus arm injury to me.

Good point re:JJ.

Must be a nasty illness to keep him out for over two weeks!

I reckon RT will go with:

SCS

Peters,Smith Trott Joseph

Martin Mckimm Standen JJ

Pinns haworth.

(maybe he will not risk Jay yet-did re:Welling and we then lost him for 3 more games )

I wish RT would avoid the two midfield widemen and play at least 3 proper midfielders, as we constantly seem to lose the midfield battle.

Plus-whilst i don't go for wing backs as such, in Peters and joseph in particular, looks like they are fit enough and good enough to make a few forages down the wings so you don't need 'wingers' and can play at least 3 proper central midfield players which is where the game is normally won-he who controls midfield-wins.

I want winning football-not sexy football

Yes Jimmy out with bronchitis so would be surprised tosee him back for Saturday. How about Luke Coleman on the right allowing Ryan Martin to switch to the left (like we ended up against Ramsgate)? Agree about Deano - plonker. If only he would curb his enthusiasm for the controversial he could be such a good player. I wouldn't be surprisied if just one of Jay or Macca made it; with my money on Macca, in which case of course, we'd bring Louis into the middle of the defence alongside Robin. I thoght they had a reasonale game against Ramsgate anyway. As for Dan, I think he'll be out for a good 4-6 weeks - a big miss for us. He's been opretty consistant all season for us in my view.

Re: Suspensions, according to the FA's website Dean is suspended for 4 games. Also, Trotty has now picked up 5 bookings so will also be out for 1 game. For those interested, Schulz is also out for 4 games.

I thought Dean would be out for at least 5 games myself, so at least we aren't without him for as long as originally thought. However, he shouldn't have been so silly as to be in a position that he has to be suspended anyway.

"Suspected" break would be best description. Hopefully I'll get some confirmation tomorrow.

On the assumption that we don't move a game to fill the gap as a result of Wimbledon's FA Trophy game on 12th Jan, here are the games Deano will miss, with Robin missing the first one:

Sat 19 Jan 08 H vs Carshalton Athletic

Sat 26 Jan 08 A vs Boreham Wood

Sat 02 Feb 08 H vs Hastings United

Sat 09 Feb 08 A vs Tonbridge Angels

I thought so too Alan so I gave the F.A.a call to clarify the situation. They say that YES a Kent Senior Cup match CAN be taken into account when ticking off those 4 suspended matches. It is for 4 x First team matches & that can include a SENIOR Cup game,of which this would be.

Thanks Joseba but no,I didn't note any clause.(Wouldnt know where to find it anyway).I merely phoned the F.A.direct,but thank you for pointing that clause out to us.

At least, between us,we now know where we stand with that one.
