Do you know what Cookie, being on AOL makes it really difficult for me to vote in these polls. Every so often I am able to vote by "going round the houses" but on this, and a number of recent occasions, I am being thwarted.

 

Anyway, I would have voted for Robin Trott.

Sorry,cant help you there Gary. Maybe a p.m to Ian.W might bring about a solution to this problem. He might be able to suggest something. Or maybe you should rid yourself of A.O.L perhaps.

Incidentally I listened to your recording this morning & especially the second half & it was very amusing listening to JJ & yourself. I mean that in a nice way. No-one would know that you were a Gate fan would they? l.o.l. You certainly raised the roof when we scored didn't you?............wow!!

Incidentally well done JJ for correctly predicting the scoreline before the match.

Thanks Cookie. I try to be honest about what I see on the pitch in front of me whilst paying attention to most of my audience's loyalty. If I get close to achieving that, I'm happy. Certainly we get some good feedback from opponent's fans about the service so at least it's not coming across like Wimbledon's of Dover's (used to).

 

By the way, how did you - and anyone else - like the recorded commentary of Danny's goal last April before kick-off?

Yeah I heard it.At the time I said to someone next to me that maybe that was the only goal we might get yesterday. Thank heavens for Pinns eh!

Might be worth doing something like that or similar through the loud speakers again perhaps before kick off. Might get the players up for it more maybe hearing stuff like that before a game. Just a thought.

Maybe do one each home game & call it "Margates Magical Moments" or just "Magic Moment" or "Magical Moment" or "Moments from the past" or something to that effect. Dig out a "moment"(not literally a moment) each week & make it a regular thing. Would only take up about 10-15 seconds of time each game. But then its you who has to do all the shifting through the archives.Maybe I'm not being fair to you with this suggestion after all.But it sounded good on the terraces I thought.

I enjoyed the Danny Hockton bit as well - think it adds a nice touch before the game.

If i was the opposition, hearing a recording of a margate goal before kick off, would make me even more determined to win.

 

I can't help wondering whether it motivates the opposition more than anything.

 

Actually, thinking about it a bit more-maybe it is ok-but it should be a goal from one of our current players.

Danny was good-but frankly-history.

 

If we are to have a recording-let it be one of the current squad.

Bit disappointed with the amount of votes made but maybe that was because I only gave you little time to vote. Sorry if that was the case.
