Great stuff as usual wellsie.

Must just say that i thought by not mentioning the Dean thing-(which is a pretty important issue)on this rare occasion you may have been a bit soft on the interviewees.

A thought for the future-occasionally-it may be interesting to get the opposition managers perspective on things(a bit late now-buit the ward's take on things may have been interesting )

Maybe the oppo managers view on a future game after we have beaten them narrowly could be an interesting interview.Seems to work on the telly !

Thanks MM. We have to be careful as the official club web-site about controversial issues that could in any way lead to criticism of officials so that's why (other than now and again in commentaries) we don't talk about those. My editorial position is also to minimise opportunities for direct criticism of individual players through the official web-site. That's for Robin behind closed doors (just like Chris K) and the message board! Of course, that's also where the independant media come in.

Funnily enough I have been thinking about the opposition managers and their perspectives on a game. Mr Ward is one that I wouldn't interview simply because of my assumptions (from observing his behaviour) about how bias he would be. But thanks for the idea, I'll try one out and see how it goes down.

Rather than asling you to repeat what's in the paper, Cookie, is there anything that would surprise me? I'm imagining he's saying, "we should have won and if it wasn't for the ref we would have."

Yeah he said all that Wellsie.Maybe biased was the wrong word to use this time perhaps & maybe I'm being a little unfair as he would be in some way wouldn't he.That IS expected by most managers.
Most of it though is about his slagging off of the referee(as is always when they fail to win)who I thought (as mentioned previously) had a decent game.
He didn't think the penalty was a penalty but then at first so didn't I. Those closer than I & certainly closer than Ward confirmed a "push". The ref IMMEDIATELY blew his whistle so it must have been straightforward I guess.
He also said that the ref didnt give them anything all day.(He gave them a goal didn't he?)
The ref was very one-sided he said. "Any of the Margate fans will tell you that he was biased". Sorry Jim I'm just ONE Margate fan & I didnt think so!
He continues: "There were 1500 people here & if you ask 1500,except the proper die-hards,they will tell you he was one-sided". I reckon from both camps there were in total about 700 die-hards so that leaves 800 & of those I doubt he would get even 200 who agreed with him on this.
When I said above(overall)that WAS because he DID give us a mention & a decent one at that so maybe I'M being a little unfair to him today thinking about things again.
One thing he was spot on with is this: "Standens come in wanting to fight the world"."Idiot-theres no other word for him".

Yeh, hard to disagree. As for the penalty, I saw a trip - at least that's what I said on the commentary - and instantly thought it should be a pen, so (trying not to be bias) thought IG made the correct decision.

It must be that player we keep seeing warming up I reckon, remember Trotty saying to me he had an unusual name so time will tell. He certainly looks a centre half!

Nice little write up in todays local about the views of both sets of fans and a couple of the players (Martin and Hadden).

Think that reporter could have a good career in journalism, even if he spelt Frankie's surname wrong wink
