i apologise for the dig at your players, although i will add that it was actually you that said "you just had to look on their faces to see where they'd rather be" you yourself would have rather been at the lane.

i'll leave the hotel thing alone, as it made no sense at all.

if esl football and linos and refs and forums and fixtures stress you out so much, the answer is mind boggling simple, even for one as hollow-skulled as you.

I moaned about at the time but i'm only a manager and i can't influence a league decision. The look on my players faces was the same on every amateur player that after enjoying a few drinks at Christmas was asked to play a football game 12 hours later on boxing day. crazyThe answer for the hotel one will be delivered sooner than you think and i'll make sure you'll be the first to know. smile

i see your team lost. hardly suprising when according to you, they didn't want to be there and instead of inspiring or getting something out of them, you just moaned about having to play the fixture.

gaffer makes an interesting point. does seem to me like you're not enjoying the kitchen very much. perhaps it's time to get out?

First:FECK IT OFF!My 12 players that played on the day were a credit to the club and their managers. They gave 100% and were only beaten by a free-kick given by a half asleept linesman.I haven't decided to play on Boxing Day.It has been a decision,i guess, taken by the League Chairman after consultation with the clubs secretaries.Stansted,Barkingside,Beaumont,Clapton and Apsa haven't played.Third,Yes,i'm not happy in the kitchen trying to cook something without the right ingredients. If you know a 5 stars hotel let me know mate,so i can shut the wenkers like you up! tongue

May I butt in here please ..... I was reading this thread with interest .... if clubs are against or not happy with Boxing Day fixtures then please say so at the AGM or before the fixtures are arranged and do not bring the five innocent clubs into the argument, Beaumont Ath and London Apsa brought their game forward to 10th December and Barkingside played Clapton on 24th November both in accordance with the Rules about bringing games forward. Stansted were the odd team out - just as it would be on any full League programme. Just wanted to get the facts right folks !

So a brief summary about our previous games around christmas time in the last 7 seasons...

2000-01 played saturday 23rd
2001-02played saturday 22nd and saturday 29th(i remember that grinhi townies)
2002-03 played sat 21st and 28th
2003-04 played sat 20th and 27th
2004-05 played saturday 18th
2005-06 played sat 17th and only game on 27th hornchurch-brentwood
2006-07 played sat 23rd

So....2007-08 is the only time that we had 3(three)games at christmas played 22nd,26th and 29th.Great choice innit?Out of curiosity dear League Chairman.. was he voted,or everybody was asked or else?Because a lot of people i have spoken to didn't sound particularly keen on it..

stop whinging coachey...boxing day has always been a footie day and indeed everyday should be a match day....wall to wall NL is what we need.... cheerleader

mr chairman...stop biting on coachies posts or we'll stick you in our nomination thread... grin

yes coachey...Hx up to 6th with games in hand on the top two and we really haven't played well or consistently as yet all season...the best is yet to come in the new year and I still think that the prem title is up for grabs as well but a play off spot will do us nicely thank you.... yay
