The referee at the Basildon v Bowers game was a complete tool and must have got new cards for Christmas, because he was keen to show them at every opportunity.

1-1 at HT then within 10 minutes of the restart Bowers were reduced to 9 men. Brad Davey given a straight red for an innocuous tackle, then Darren Ellis picked up a 2nd yellow for dissent. They were soon followed by Bowers' coach Tony. Then against the run of play, Bowers took the lead with a great finish by Chris Lewis.

Bowers were then reduced to 8 players when Carl Reed was dismissed for calling the lino a fecking cheating c**t.

Basildon were unable to take advantage of the situation and just kept pumping aimless balls into the box.

Our Ref today was a complete and utter Tool...and thats coming from the team that won!

He gave Concord a Penalty when none of their players even appealed. The Ball was looping in the air and headed off the line, our player lost balance and the ball hit the post and brushed the Manor players hand who was a matter of inches from the post....he had no way of moving!

I ran over to the Linesman who said that he did`nt think it was a penalty...the ref went over and the young lino bottled it! Muuuuuugs! Luckily Justice was done with the kick.

Whenever you asked him a question, on the very rare occasions he did respond, he gave a sarcatic response and prompted for a response from the players!

Manor killed the clock a lot second half, ecspecially on goal kicks and throw ins (Anyone would) and to be fair to Rangers, the ref did not issue one singal warning to speed play up!

This frustrated Concords players and bench but little did the players know that the official played 9 minutes injury time. [****!!****]*r! 1 Injury that I recall.

Joe, I completely agree that the referee was abysmal but "he did set his stall out early on" so we knew what was coming. I would rather the result was 1-1 as any thing else was a travesty.

However, I will never, ever, forget the words of your c@nt of a manager bellowing and slagging off Basildon after he walked off the pitch. (You have to remember that he left Basildon United and took almost all the first team with him.)

If he is the best you can do as a manager, good luck!

professionalism 0/10

Coach, no he he said that he was staying but in the end went at the last minute with almost all the playing staff.

I'm in despair, how can a manager at this level show such a lack of professionalism today? If there had been more people left in the stands, there would have been problems. However, nothing will be done, morons are accepted as managers and so it will remain.

This league stinks!

I believe Mark Bradshaw was reffing the match (Basildon vs Bowers), the last match he reffed at this level was Barkingside vs Hullbridge at the start of last season, which ended up a farce. Unfortunately the level 4 refs seemed to be called up for the Ryman and Conference lines.

crazy2 biggrininvasion
Barkingside had 6 players booked and a sending off!And a blatant penalty denied to Hullbridge with the scoreline at 0-0 on 65th minutes....I thought they said that was the last game he would referee at this level! crazy

ps:I blame Sixy for bullying in the playground biggrin1

It wasn't a dirty game at all and if it wasn't for the two benches good behaviour,it could have ended up far worse. Both secretaries together they put in complaints about the refereeing and were told that he would only run the line in future... crazy

I'm not saying this because we lost as we were hopeless but the ref yesterday was a joke. He had a good first half up until he rightly booked Turner but it seemed that after Ben had had a moan at him the ref didn't give us anything. He sent Ben off for a accidental handball in one of our rare attacks. He gave a pen for absolutely nothing no one appealed and i thought he was giving a goal kick

And there was one incident where Heed got bodychecked quite balently but the ref ignored it, I don't like boxing day games they are never good matches at this level

Beeser, I take no pleasure in yesterday's victory for Bowers, as I wanted Basildon to get a result, why? because my son plays for them (When fit!!!). I left the pitchside two minutes before the end as I knew what the Bowers' reaction would be.

However jubilant Doyley was at getting 3 points against the odds, there was no need to goad the Basildon bench as it was hardly their fault for the dismissals.
