Wednesday puzzle (don't mention the war!)

Imagine you are a contestant on a TV game show. You are offered a choice of three boxes. Open the correct one, and you win a car; open either of the others, and you win a goat. There is a twist. After you have chosen, but before the box is opened, the host opens one of the other boxes to reveal a goat. Then he asks if you want to stick with your first choice, or change your mind and open the third box instead. For example, you have picked box A, he shows you that in box B there is a goat, he now asks you if you would prefer to switch to box C.

What do you do?

Choose the box marked 'Car' on it. Unless all the boxes are marked car. Or if they were all marked goat.

 

Hang on a minute, EFM'sL. You make it sound like a goat is a bad prize to win. What's wrong with goats, exactly?

Choose the box without large holes in it, as the goats would be eating their way out.

or you could smell the boxes as surely the goat would be scared. Then choose the box that didn't smell!

RTS. What's the real answer? Look to see which box has an exhaust pipe? Look to see which box has horns?

 

It doesn't matter which box you choose, because there's nothing wrong with goats?
