Stand and deliver!

The amount of enthusiasm generated by one lone Witham supporter at the covered end far outweighed anything that the ETFC supporters could rally during the first half yesterday. There was no atmosphere and even our 'little drummer boy' couldn't get his beaters going. Different matter in the second half though which must have helped the team.

There was a note in the Bedfont programme which indicated that the club has always wanted to provide some form of cover at the railway end but it has not been needed to meet ground grading criteria.

It was therefore interesting to note from yesterday's programme that the new operating body has set a programme of improvements to the main clubhouse and new projects to generate income for both clubs.

I am just wondering if the improvements should have been completed prior to the signing of a joint lease and whether supporters' views are being taken on board, especially when it comes to having a covered section at the railway end. Could this not be classed as an income generating scheme? If the finances are not available, and other projects are being undertaken, then where do the supporters needs come in a pecking order?

We all know we have to speculate to accumulate, but if a straw poll was carried out by supporters/owners of ETFC as to what they wanted, then I am wondering what the outcome would be? An improved club house or covered terracing?
