jl is always right, (His job requires it grin ) most clubs rely on sponsorship, advertising and/or donations to survive, which is all legitimate income. It's how that income is spent that sorts solid clubs from the YoYo's

it may be legitimate income TC but the point in question is that it is dependant on the generosity of others and therefore not self suffiency...

oh and I didn't accuse anyone of anything TC....you must have been reading another post by someone else... laugh

UU,
OK, a veiled accusation then, 500 fans, small profit, £750 etc...

Of course they are dependant on, its called income, thats how business and budgeting works is it not...only spend what you can afford.
Or are you suggesting that clubs should ignore their income and just spend bar and gate receipts.

I have no idea what your cryptic last sentence is about, please enlighten us.

there was no cryptic last sentence TC.. just my reference to you accusing me of accusing lee of creative accounting which of course is clearly plain for all to see.....I didn't....

I therefore suggested that you may have mistaken my post for another elsewhere.....

now if we step back calmly to the chelmo posts we can clearly see that the concern is of the subsidised variety and it is that subject which I have debated...none other....self sustainability cannot take donations from directors or shareholders into consideration imo as it clearly is not sustainable income...income maybe but not self sustainable from the clubs point of view as it can disappear tomorrow...

I see little point in pretence over this matter...all of our clubs are dependant on the generosity of individuals to maintain their current pyramid levels...no problem if you disagree with me....its not a major issue for me and I am sure its not for you so I'll move on...

a merry xmas to all at ricay from all at Hx... laughsnowman

Not a major issue with me either, but an interesting discussion point nevertheless.

I don't disagree with the point that we all use sponsorship/donations etc, but if we know how much we will receive in sponsorship/donations this season, then it becomes legitimate income imo, therefore it can be factored into our budget

Problems arise when spending exceeds income, Leeds united for example

As for a disappearing income at any time, well that's true of any business at any time, Ratners Jewelers and The high street butchers are just two examples, and how do we know what our next gate will be?

If clubs should only take into acc your interpretation of sustainability for a season, then what do you suggest an average Ryman prem clubs expenditure should be.

A merry Christmas to one and all
